I like to think that if we got back to doing it with the frequency and regularity of the old days, the skills would return. Going back to the old art school exercises wouldn't hurt, too.

I noticed this as well, Romita Jr.'s art seems to have gone off the boil in the last couple of years.

I think that's true of a lot of the "old time" artists...they just don't seem to have the sparkle they once did.

I'm with you! JR himself is the "old" artist - he was drawing Spidey when I started collecting. JR Junior is, well... junior!

Probably. Time and energy are all it takes. Finding them is... difficult.

I had to actually draw a program logo with an established character for work recently. Completely freaked me out, and I had to really work at it. I did okay, I guess. Everybody seemed to like it.
