Jodie Whittaker is the 13th Doctor

Two years ago, there was a webcomic called Ensign Sue Must Die. It's buggers up several universes after starting off in the Trekverse (trust me it's incredibly funny and has a lot of in-jokes and Easter eggs). One universe that intersects is the Doctor's. he dies several times, but for reasons he regenerates into a previous, out of sequence version of himself. But right at the end...

Thanks for posting. That scene gives me great confidence that Jodie will be able to deliver some fantastic doctor speeches! Now, the writers just need to give her the right material!

edit:
Here is another great monologue from Antigone. I dare anyone to watch this and tell me that Jodie lacks the acting chops to deliver amazing Doctor speeches!

And like BLM and communism, good concepts. Its how the concepts get perverted that's the problem.
Right. It's when it turns into a lynch mob. That's where the problems start. When people's words are twisted and changed from "prefer" to "Demanded" in order to justify someone else spewing their hate or using violence as some form of punishment.

It's all well and good that the Doctor is a woman but it's only a surface change. It doesn't change the fact that because it's now a woman she'll be paid less because of the gender pay gap. But f**k it, let's argue why anonymous101 doesn't like it instead.

I can't wait for the Eccleston, Capaldi and Whittaker crossover!
It would be amazing if that could happen on the TV show.

I want Eccleston to return for an episode or a special. I want to see him getting mad and disillusioned how 12th and 13th could forget about what he did in the Time War, right when he just regenerated from the War Doctor and his guilt is freshest. I guess they can't tell him about what actually happened, so that would even allow for the 13th and 9th Doctor to fight much like in the Antigone clip.

The BBC have been driving down wages since Matt Smith's second year. Their entire 'high wage', above 150k, on air talent budget is only £28m.

They're made in looms, of course!

Is that her natural accent? Sounds northern just like Eccles.

Which brings up the next question, will she have her natural accent as the Doctor (ala Capaldi), or some generic tosh (ala Tennant)?

Wasn't the rationale for Tennant's "generic tosh" because they didn't two northern accents in a row?

Hopefully they'll have realised that it really doesn't matter the the audience?

When she was on Broadchurch I don't recall her acceent being that pronounced it was there at all?

As to her role in Antigone - where that was the production when I studied did Classical Studies in high school oh so many years ago :)

When it comes to equal pay, racial justice etc. I am all for it. .

I really hope Missy comes back again just to call the Doctor a copycat.

Ha!

Right Wing Assholes (also extremists) seem to call anyone an inch lefter than they are a Social Justice Warrior, when really most of the time these persons are not extremists at all but moderates asking for simple entry level rights and protections.

MLK was the ultimate "SJW" after all--and Ghandi of course. DS9'sRejoined is better than TNG's The Outcast. Protest lit isn't always original. Then there was the proposed Ground Zero Flag stature that could have omitted two others identity--but would have been a nice gesture.

I will say this. It might have been nice if all other time lords were male--as a counterpart to the Karn Sisterhood--with the Doctor being the first cross-overe--a sign of growth--a bridge. Continuity didn't allow that storyline.

This is a good pick--and I think will allow for new stories.

An example of something that has to be male... Lee Hazlewood's "character" in "Some Velvet Morning"

I picture him as a an old drunk, who had an odd experience with the Doctor.

Or maybe the Doctor meets Tilda Swinton as a guest villain maybe--shee comes off even cooler than Jodie..

"Some Velvet Morning" might be a good episode name..but with a change or two...

Some velvet morning when I'm straight
I'm gonna batter down that gate
And maybe tell you 'bout Yidhra
And how she gave me life
And how she made it end

Some velvet morning when I'm straight...
