JJ Abrams should thow us a bone!

I would love it if Abrams threw Enterprise some "sort of a bone." One of my favorite parts of Nemesis is when we see Admiral Kathryn Janeway. Perhaps we will learn that Trip didn't really die in TATV!! LOL!

After reading the Roberto Orci interview, I'm pretty sure we will see some references to Enterprise. He pretty much said they are going to reference all the shows, and specifically said TNG has "stuff" in them movie. He praised what the producers did with Enterprise and said they will be doing the same thing. And after all, Enterprise would be the easiest to reference because it's stuff that already happened. He was specifically asked if there will be little nuggets like the USS Archer in Nemesis, and he said the references they use are more relevant to the story. He's a big Star Trek fan and knows Enterprise is part of canon.

I really would not be shocked at all if we see T'Pol in this movie.

Y'know. Just thinking right in the box here. Not that they would bother... But this movies would be an excellent vehicle to bring Trip back.

They could have T'Pol mention she and her husband Admiral Tucker had three children graduate from Starfleet Academy, or something like that. Then you know he really didn't die.

I'll give you 2 million if they go with this one.

Forget the cash, howabout going on YouTube and dropping a live grenade down your shorts?

Doesn't the fact that Leonard Nimoy is playing Spock in it just about guarantee that there'll be a reference to the 24th century? I'm even quite sure a good part of the movie takes place then. So really, they could reference any series they wanted to.

I'm not exactly enthusiastic about what I hear about the movie.

The casting of John Cho and Simon Pegg are the most troubling things to me so far. I get that they're probably trying to bring a younger audience to Trek, and these guys have a certain cred and recognition with that audience, but both have been so far known mostly for spoof/comedy roles. It's hard to imagine that either could do justice to the original cast members' (or their character's) legacies. And if they screw up Scotty, man... there'll be hell to pay, laddie.

Star Trek XI or whatever its called should throw we "Enterprise" fans a bone with:

Kirk and the junior officers are commenting on Spock with Kirk saying..."It must be hard on Spock being the first Vulcan/Human hybrid-" and Zachary Quinto's Spock using his superior hearing interjecting- "No Lt. Kirk, Captain Lorian Jonathan Tucker of the Vulcan High Command and his sister Councilor T'Les Elizabeth Tucker are."

No, really, they shouldn't.

Where's the blush emoticon?

I should clarify, lest it appear I pick on ENT: this movie should throw no bones to TNG, DS9 or VOY, either.

My only gripe is the remake or whatever the "it" term is being used for them these days.
I like that they are going out of the US to film part of the movie and I REALLY like the idea of Romulans being used, but remakes are dealbreaker for me.
Sorry to get off topic here.

There is that element of Nimoy's bookend scenes I suppose. I specifically had the TOS recreation in mind, since we imagine that's the period for this and any sequels. For instance how much do you draw on from TNG and later shows? Which aliens could be seen around Kirk and Spock without running into the hyper-critism levelled at Enterprise? Then there are new races never seen before or since to bring in. Another crutch that "so called" fans have used to beat prequel Star Trek to death with in the recent past.
