They could throw ENT a bone by doing a Kirk/Spock neuropressure scene.

They could have T'Pol mention she and her husband Admiral Tucker had three children graduate from Starfleet Academy, or something like that. Then you know he really didn't die.

I'll give you 2 million if they go with this one.

Star Trek XI or whatever its called should throw we "Enterprise" fans a bone with:
Kirk and the junior officers are commenting on Spock with Kirk saying..."It must be hard on Spock being the first Vulcan/Human hybrid-" and Zachary Quinto's Spock using his superior hearing interjecting- "No Lt. Kirk, Captain Lorian Jonathan Tucker of the Vulcan High Command and his sister Councilor T'Les Elizabeth Tucker are."

The casting of John Cho and Simon Pegg are the most troubling things to me so far. I get that they're probably trying to bring a younger audience to Trek, and these guys have a certain cred and recognition with that audience, but both have been so far known mostly for spoof/comedy roles. It's hard to imagine that either could do justice to the original cast members' (or their character's) legacies. And if they screw up Scotty, man... there'll be hell to pay, laddie.![]()
There is that element of Nimoy's bookend scenes I suppose. I specifically had the TOS recreation in mind, since we imagine that's the period for this and any sequels. For instance how much do you draw on from TNG and later shows? Which aliens could be seen around Kirk and Spock without running into the hyper-critism levelled at Enterprise? Then there are new races never seen before or since to bring in. Another crutch that "so called" fans have used to beat prequel Star Trek to death with in the recent past.ST_Intergalactic said: Doesn't the fact that Leonard Nimoy is playing Spock in it just about guarantee that there'll be a reference to the 24th century? I'm even quite sure a good part of the movie takes place then. So really, they could reference any series they wanted to.
