Jimmy Dean, a singing sausage maker no more - RIP

Jimmy Dean, a country music legend for his smash hit about a workingman hero, "Big Bad John," and an entrepreneur known for his sausage brand, died on Sunday. He was 81.

I liked it when he did his own commercials, his down-homey style never seemed phony. I have made many a breakfast of biscuits and Jimmy Dean sausage gravy.

He also introduced many Americans to Muppets, or rather a Muppet: Rowlf the dog was a regular part of The Jimmy Dean Show in the early 60s.

Best wishes for Mr. Dean.

Justin
