The original Excelsior was always one of my least favorite starships. I never liked the secondary hull...that flat-top version of the original, and especially the fishing boat style used on the Ent-B. And, although I only tolerate the JJverse version of the Big E, I must say, your Excelsior is a wonderful design. I especially like the lines of the secondary hull. Great work! Can't wait to see more progression of this design. :-)

I personally liked what you were doing with the nacelles before; I thought what you did with them was ingenious. I think that Jetfreak's nacelles looks too much like the AU Constitution's nacelles (especially considering that the Constitution's and Excelsior's nacelles look so different). But it is Jetfreaks vision of the AU Excelsior, so it is what it is.

Maybe some day, a bunch of us should get together and design a version of the AU Excelsior that blends design elements from different visions of the AU Excelsior into one cohesive design. I think that such a design would be an excellent candidate for using your nacelles.

The raised rounded surface around the bridge reminds me quite a bit of the Sovereign's, but given how much I like the Sovereign, I'm not complaining. I also like how it matches the slope of the saucer.

All the different designs you mention might be compiled into an Excelsior evolution chart. The AU entry could be explained by having Nero's wormhole open back up into the prime universe, etc.
