Jessica Jones-- Marvel/Netflix

Can't wait. I have a little devil on my right shoulder telling me to call in sick on the 20th and a little angel on my left shoulder telling me I have responsibilities. We'll see which one wins out.

It's very brief but it looks like the purple lighting might be used to signify when the Purple Man's power is at work.
Yeah, it looks like even if he doesn't have purple skin, there will still be a lot of purple involved with Kilgrave.

Looks good and Ritter seems perfect for the part.
No kidding. :)

I don't know. While I've no doubt Ritter has done a very good job, I can't shake the feeling they cast a little too young and made-up/pretty for the role. Maybe it's the art style of the comic or maybe it's my own subjective concept of the character, but I always pictured Jessica Jones looking a bit rougher and tired looking than this. The way they're presenting the character feels more towards hard drinking jaded party girl than hard drinking jaded gum-shoe.

To me, she looks perfect for the role. I think Jeph Loeb described it best that she was perfect when she showed up to the audition with ripped jeans and combat boots and it turns out that's just what she wore anyway. She's not drinking because she's a party girl, she's drinking to hurt herself.

Is she too attractive? Depending on the way she's been drawn, perhaps a bit. But she's 33, which strikes me as exactly the right age. We've been over this, but there's no reason to think Jessica Jones is older than that.

Jessica was described as being attractive in the comics. The kid she hired to be her assistant thought she was hot and the arc that guest starred Jessica Drew has them all glammed up for a club and she was again described as being hot.

Yeah, I think it was Gaydos's art, which was partly his style but also to show that she was somewhat beaten and broken. It wasn't saying that she was unattractive (even if she wasn't a supermodel).

*sigh*... For me, it probably doesn't start until my new laptop arrives sometime in the next two weeks and I get it up and running. I just don't trust my current laptop's ability to play streaming videos without freezing.

I'm going on a day trip to Germany tomorrow, so I probably won't be able to start watching until Sunday.

Doesn't help The Man in the High Castle also comes out today.

Well this is going to be fun. Everyone's going to be watching the show at their own pace and not sure who else is caught up with them! ;)
I assume the rule from here on out is just about everything is spoiler tagged with which episode you're talking about. Is that how we handled this in the Daredevil thread?

Do you have any smart devices, or video game systems? Almost all of them have a Netflix app. We've got it on about 5 or 6 devices in our house.
I didn't start the show yet today, but I will be watching at least the first episode tomorrow. I'm probably watching just one at a time, but I will be watching it every 2 or three days, rotating with The 100, and The Man in The High Castle.

I have a rather compact smartphone. I'd prefer waiting to watch until I can see it on a decent-sized screen. (Many's the time lately that I've regretted not taking that deal to add a tablet to my smartphone plan for an extra 50 bucks. At the time, I didn't see why I'd need a tablet if I already had a laptop and a smartphone.)
