Hate is a very strong word. I have no problems with the actress, she did a good job with some of the stories she got in VOY. I dislike the character of Seven and how she monopolised the series and became essentially a deus ex machina.

Agreed. Seven was a good addition to the crew but I don't love the character though I definitely don't hate her.

I agree there MLB, much as I like Ivanova I suspect that would have been a much less nuanced 7 we got.

I have watched a few interviews of Jeri and she seems nothing like Seven which shows how good an actress she is.

^ Yeah, I've seen her on various Law & Order-verse shows (she played a defense attorney on SVU and a Blackwater-type military contractor on Criminal Intent) and she is in no way Sevenish in those.

I've been wondering, in Human Error she asks the holographic version of Janeway for a uniform. In real life, if she were given one, would it be the yellow or blue?

Hudson Leick AKA Callisto in the Xena : Warrior Princess TV series also auditioned to play Seven. Callisto is so out of control I wondered how Hudson would have played her, but since someone pointed out to me that in Xena we actually watch Hudson successfully play a stoical Xena for 2 full eps, we get to see how her "Seven" would look.

I wonder who else went after the role?

I like 7, but I wish she would have been a little more human in Season 6 and 7. That fail safe device where she couldn't have emotions was such a slap in the face, or just very very disappointing.

I was going to mention that but you beat me to it. Hudson was so freaking awesome as Callisto! I'm kind of glad she didn't get Seven because then she wouldn't have been able to continue her appearances on Xena.
