Jeri Ryan in Mortal Kombat????

Armegeden(i know i didn't spell that right) was the last MK game to be using any of the original characters. If there is another MK game coming out, then i doubt it has Sonya or Jax... let alone have Jeri Ryan as her. It's youtube people like to mess with other people's heads. If that trailor is real however... hollywood has just analy raped yet another part of my childhood.

First off, it's not a trailer.
Second, it's not a promo for any new MK game with Jeri Ryan.
As I said, it's a demo video given to WB as a pitch for a new Mortal Kombat film.
I wouldn't be surprised if they posted it on Youtube to see if there is an interest in investing in such a film.
 
I can't say Jeri Ryan is the first actress I would think of for Sonya Blade and the video didn't show much of her but it looked cool anyway. I'd go see it if they made the film.

lol ok calm down. All i'm saying is that i hope this doesn't happen because it doesn't seen to follow the correct storyline at all. Its cool that they made Scorpion the lead character it seems like cuz he's always been my favorite, it just looks like a dissapointment.
 
Saw this last night. Jeri Ryan was awesome looking in what little she was in. This is what I wanted on Voyager.

Anyway, I'd go see this movie if they make it.

Uh, I meant little as in how long she was actually in the clip. She didn't come until the very end. Your comment is unintentionally funny though considering we are talking about Jeri Ryan.
 
Sorry, my bad. Your post just reminded me of a conversation I overheard about her having "To much" skin covered as 7.

But you are right, she was only there briefly in the clip. I kind of got the feeling that even as Sonya, it's going to be a somewhat small role in whatever this ends up becoming.
 
I can see her more of a special weapons expert or something, being a sniper and leading the back up team to Scorpion, etc.

I second that!

Besides, there's always a straying from the original storyline when a movie comes out based on it. I can deal. ;)

Not always. The one that came out in the 90's was pretty damn good at keeping its originality. Althought there we're a few quirks, it was still done with a good job. I think it was good because Ed Boon kept supervising it.

They didn't even try to cover up the fact that French actor Christoper Lambert was playing what was supposed to be Asian when they cast him as Raiden.
 
Why do some people think Jeri Ryan is too old for Sonya Blade? 40 is the new 30 and Michael Jai White is slightly older than her, though it seems like she doesn't need to be a martial arts expert and mostly uses guns. Also Scorpion is played by English-Japanese actor Ian Anthony Dale who played a supporting role in The Hungover and guest starred in a recent episode of CSI.
 
I do not. I think she's a great fit for the role.

There's now a petition to get it picked up as a full fledged movie. You can find it through Jeri's twitter feed.
 
I think she's great for the role. I've seen a couple of the other roles she's played (the female Sentinel for example) and thought she did a great job, and look forward to this should it get picked up.
