No; Trebek didn't comment on the reference. Then again, the only way to explain it to anybody who hadn't seen the episode would be to explain it to death.
I didn't see it myself until fairly late last night: Tuesday evening, while it was being aired, I was walking up the hill to my first Hollywood Bowl concert of the summer (Dudamel conducting an all-ballet-music program, with four dance soloists, in front of a surprisingly heavy turnout).
Jeopardy loves to do that. In one episode of Jeopardy last year they used three different categories that Sean Connery hilariously mispronounced on SNL's 'Celebrity Jeopardy'.
Either I missed that one, or it went over my head. Did Alex duplicate the mispronunciations? Did they "creatively misspell" the category names in order to force mispronunciation?
