Jennifer Morrison back on House MD

This doesn't surprise me at all, especially consider her name hasn't been removed from the opening credits, even after the holiday break.

^It's not a spoiler that an actor is appearing in an upcoming episode -- not unless their appearance is a surprise revelation at the end. People use the term "spoiler" far too broadly these days -- which is ironic considering how impossible it's become to keep advance information about a story secret anymore.

After all, the story isn't that she returns -- it's why she returns and what happens when she returns. So nothing is actually spoiled by knowing this.

If Morrison was to make a reappearance it would surely be heavily promoted in advance anyway.

This was far, far too obvious to ever qualify as a spoiler anyway. I don't think there's much to worry about here.

Totally agree. A few years back, I posted on a Stargate message board that Ben Browder was going to play new character Mitchell, and I got jumped on by others with the whole "You SHOULD HAVE SPOILER CODED That!!!1!!!11. No SPOILERS!!!! YOU RUINED IT!!!!11" *

I stopped posting there shortly thereafter.

* I admit I am exaggerating here for effect, but not by much.

I think it's clear she would return, she is a regular character until the end of this season.

People read way too much into the credits.

It's for one episode, if you read the article it says she is busy with a Broadway Play.

Is it really "coming back" if she appears for a couple of epiodes during the season to wrap up/participate in story lines?

"Coming back" suggests that she's returning as a regular character. In this sense Denise Crosby "came back" to TNG when "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "Unification" aired.

It's not "coming back" if she's doing a few episode arc. It's guest-staring (though she's still a "star" of the show.)

I know this is a little pedantic, but saying she's "back" is overstating things just a little bit from the information I'm seeing.

When she does comeback I hope they wrap up her character a bit better. The way she left was a little... unsatisfying.

I'd like to see her come back and tell House and Chase that she isn't a pissed off, holier-than-thou bitch who judges and hates House because he has the audacity to save lives with an indifference to humanity and she doesn't hate Chase because he had the audacity to kill a ruthless dictator.

^I think that's defining "coming back" way too narrowly. There's nothing in that phrase that implies permanence, only reversal. If I come back to a store where I left my sunglasses, that doesn't mean I'm going to stay there forever.

We could argue that Tarsha Yar came back to in TNG because she was in ONE more episode in 6 years? Coming back is more than gonig "Hi".

Oh... irony. ;)

You're comparing apples and oranges, but I see where you are coming from. Still, saying she's "coming back" seems to be overstating things a bit.

^If she was away and now she's there again, that is "coming back" by definition. There is absolutely no precedent for defining the phrase "coming back" in a way that excludes a temporary return.

It's not as if splitting hairs is anything close to new for this forum (or, indeed, the internet in general). But boy, your point sure is taken! :p
