The reason i think people aren't raising money for her is because her innocence is not clear in all of this.

I'm going to say something here some may disagree with: IT'S NOT THE FANS' RESPONSIBILITY to bail her out. In fact, that could do more harm than good, we don't know. Her own family has not come forward to ask for donations, have they? They apparently consider this situation acceptable - and frankly, so must Lien, if she is not availing herself of a bail bond herself.

Let the experts sort it out. Maybe she needs some alone time. Look at her - she has chopped her hair, she has left her family, she has moved to BF Egypt Tennessee on a street on the edge of poverty. (Go ahead, search images of her street: Sewanee St Harriman Tennessee. According to public records her 100 year old house is worth about $63,000). She is possibly experiencing culture shock with neighbors who are willing to ignore a crying child for extended periods - where complaining about someone not taking responsibility is the worse crime, apparently. By now she must realize she isn't in La La Land any more.

Perhaps she just escalates arguments like some people do. Perhaps she chopped off her hair for meth money. We don't know. She may be fresh out of a divorce and handling it badly. She may have brought it upon herself. At this point, the best thing people can do is let the public servants do their jobs. Wish her well, but also realize she is not the character she played, and give her a break from that, she obviously wants one or she'd be an autograph hound like the rest of them, (bless 'em).

I will say this much: if I were a betting man, I would bet the neighbor was overreacting and blowing something completely out of context. As Guy mentioned a while back, there were no drug charges. Lien had prior troubles and is probably on some kind of police watch list.

I get the feeling it's a tempest in a teacup between someone down on her luck who doesn't realize she's not dealing with Californica thug culture but people who take threats seriously. But that Lien may be having money problems which lead to all sorts of other problems, not the least of which, is good old fashioned mountain paranoia. Of course, doesn't mean she's innocent.

People getting arrested by the police don't threaten their lives or ram their cruisers unless something else is going on. I will say that some middle aged divorced mothers who lose control of their family nest - can react badly. I mean, seriously badly.

I would counsel time and patience here. You may not want to support wrong actions with blind fandom. The first step in restoring faith in a person is when that person takes responsibility for their actions.

I agree with you in this. Personally I feel very sad for Jennifer but I can't defend her behavior. I don't want to speculate in anything but I hope that she will get all the help she need (and want) to sort this out.

I agree here too because this thread has been very civilized and objective (except for some comments from one not so nice poster who fortunately had stayed out of this thread since then). I see no reason for closing this thread as long as the comments continue to be civilized and so many posters shows real concern for Jennifer.

This evaluation is her public defenders idea, which is the right move whether Jennifer is insane or not.

I was actually wondering yesterday how nice it is that a plea of temporary insanity can make you side step a murder charge, but I'm not sure if it mitigates guilt much anywhere else in the criminal code.

Under the temporary insanity umbrella, Jennifer could have murdered that entire family and walked, but temporary insanity is how much defence against bringing the light of day to your nipples? She probably has to try for full-time insanity and then persist in a few years bead and breakfast in a therapy camp.

If the Judge had requested the evaluation, then Jennifer would most probably be quite batshit.

But since it was her own public defender, who can't even ask for such a thing without Jennifer's permission(???), then this seems like a calculated move by someone who is only as crazy as the rest of us. Of course she could be ill, and be seeking help, but the public defenders strategy would be identical in either situation.

(Yes, my back does hurt from bending over back backwards this far.)

In all likeliness severe depression is probably what we are looking at (because the husband and child left), which is super manageable, and an honest commitment to therapy and medication could help her avoid (more) jail time completely.

Although, if Jennifer is just an asshole, she can present the symptoms of depression (and other stuff) (without lying, or faking anything) without actually being clinically bananas.

Although many brickbats have been slung her way over the years, knocking her over the role, her acting ability, reticence/weirdness at conventions, etc., I don't think many have used that or similar epithets in describing her.

If the disposition of this mess plays out in a serious treatment programme, I would think it likely that her stay at the facility would be of some considerable length, given the years of seeming non/ineffective attention to her illness which obviously has allowed it to become harrowingly manifest.

However unlikely, one can always hope for some type of surprisingly efficacious regimen that might result in a much briefer confinement.

A different report on the matter we found earlier, says that the public defender asked the Judge for the mental evaluation. Which probably means that Jennifer wants to be thought as mentally unwell, whether she is or is not, because it is a darn sight better than being regarded healthy enough to serve porridge.

I imagine that most of you are naked right now, or have a right to be naked in the comfort of your own home, so calculate how you would react if the police invaded your living room and told you that your breasts were unpleasant. Not only did Jennifer have the right to be naked in her own living room, but she almost had the right to request that her guests disrobe before entering her house.

Exactly how cooperative would you plan on being with these ass####s throwing their sence of estranged dencency in your bare face?

In all seriousness, you don't #### with cops, but I feel like she was really, really being pushed by an incredibly weird situation, that she momentarily didn't give a shit about the future or any consequences to her actions in general because she was right, and they were wrong, and that's all that mattered, but being right, and being righteous about being right, doesn't amount to squat in the short term if you are having an argument with 40 cops all armed with tasers.

I wouldn't threaten them. That's always a good way to go from being 'right', to being 'wrong'.

I hope she (through her defender) requested the evaluation because she genuinely wants and needs help. Being found mentally unfit isn't exactly a 'get out of jail' free card, and if it's not true then sentencing doesn't tend to be every lenient. You wouldn't believe the amount of (perfectly well) idiots who push for it without realising how much it can bite them in the ass.
