Jenna leaving - next compnion ?

Yeah but that is different then forgetting someone you spent a few years with. Besides he didn't know what ship he was on during that adventure. He was also referring more to what the robots were saying and doing. Probably offscreen he does keep up with some of his favorite companions.

I know it won't happen, but it would be very nice to have a solo male companion, or even a lead male companion who isn't a boyfriend (and not some one lame like Danny Pink).

I wouldn't mind a combination like Barbara and Ian or Zoe and Jamie. No romance just friends. Though I wouldn't have been surprised if Ian and Barbara hooked up afterwards.

The boy and girl has to fall in love trope is old and worn.

So a new married couple of gay men join the team Tardis.

"Now, before you two buckle in for the night, I just want to give you my timehead speech. I'm not saying you can't fool around, just that can you two please take precautions and use some vigorous contraception, because there's a chance that if one of you impregnates the other, that there's a very strong chance that your child will have god like powers and try to destroy the universe. But anyways, pleasant dreams, and I'll see you in the morning."

Oh god. Can you imagine the outrage over tthe gay agenda if they actually introduced a gay couple companions?

What gay pair?

Tom Daley and his bf? I would not mind and they leave the bf out. :D

edit: now seriously: I don't want Moffat to write a gay relationship. Please not. Not with his "let's make jokes about transsexual horses" attitude.

I would love to have Vastra and Jenny on the tardis. :)
Now would you want a former companion to come back? And if they were going to do that whom would it be.

I would love to have Donna back in the tardis.

Well they already have Vastra and Jenny (and had Jack) so I doubt more LGBT characters are on the horizon.

As said, we had the transsexual horse.
Jack was ok but most of it was written by RTD. That would be fine by me (my first glimpse on doctor who was in "Queer as folk" :D anyway).

As for Vastra and Jenny - it is something completely different to show a male pair than a female pairing. But you're right, I don't remember any cheap jokes that annoyed me concerning them (but I find them a little boring anyway).

My point is: I think Moffat is a little awkward if it comes to relationships in general. I was just happy that Danny is dead (sorry) and there is no "relationship" for a while.

OMG! Donna and Twelve would be hilarious! Too bad that can't happen because of the pesky "remember and die" clause.

I'd like to see Craig come back. I know I sound like a broken record for mentioning it over and over again but he was SO funny!

Amen to that! I firmly believe the only reason they gave Clara a boyfriend is because the Doctor was no longer young and the writers couldn't have the two of them flirting anymore without it seeming inappropriate.

Except Craig wouldn't... He is so grounded in his family. he was all about staying at home and just living his ordinary life. That being his key personal characteristic is what saved the day in both his appearances.
What made him so funny was his way of life colliding with the completely bonkers world of the Doctor.
The only way iI can see him joining the Doctor on the Tardis would be an event like aliens abducting Sophie and Alfie. Then he would actually seek out the Doctor for help and not stop until his family is save.
But that would also set the date he would leave.
But then why would the Doctor take him on all sorts of different whacky adventures on the way?

Or after they save Sophie and Alfie, the Doctor invites them all on the TARDIS.

Either way it sounds like a good idea for an episode:)

For me, other than Ian or Susan, the only "old" companion I would like to see again is Ace. Her story wasn't tied up properly and, if the plan to have her be a "time lord-in-training", it would be interesting to see what became of her. I suspect there's probably a lot of Big Finish material writers wouldn't want to conflict with, however.

Of course, there's always Romana, who is oft-discussed on here. But since she always has the option of regenerating, anyone could play her. Of course her slant would be how/why did she leave E-space, was she president of Gallifrey and if so, how did she survive the Time War?

There really isn't anyone else left who's either compelling enough to return, who doesn't have story conflict with a return or who's actor is still alive or willing to return.

Susan - maybe
Ian - maybe (but don't take too long)
Barbara - deceased
Vicki - not likely (left in Troy)
Steven - not likely (left with the Savages)
Katarina - dead
Sarah Kingdom - dead
Dodo - not likely (although she might have issues with having been practically abandoned at an asylum!)
Polly - Wills would gladly make an appearance but without Ben (Craze - deceased), its not really doable
Jamie - Its a possibility....but we have to address his wiped memory
Zoe - ditto
Victoria - Left on Earth in an adoptive family...not likely to give that up.
Jo - nah (appeared in the SJA)
Sarah Jane - deceased
Harry - does anyone even remember poor Harry?
Leela - possible, but is the character alive?
Romana - possible
Adric - dead
Nyssa - possible
Turlough - possible but unlikely
Tegan - got stressed out travelling with the Doctor
Mel - don't want her back, Glitz can keep her
Ace - see above
