Jem'Hadar attack for me. That's how I've always known it, going back to Bernd Schneider's Ex Astris Scientia. Can't recall what's it's named in ST: Armada.

In STO, we've got J. Fighter (new, shuttle-sized craft), attack ship, strike cruiser (new type), warship, dreadnought.

Based on naval nomenclature I'd call it a Destroyer
It'd be a cruiser early on--a fast cruiser in ENTERPRISE'S day--but by TNG's time--an Escort--or maybe what SFB called a Fast Patrol Ship.

I might call it the Scarab class attack ship.

The Orii ships from SG-1--Tiara class supercruisers.

I always figured the different names were for different classes of ships, except Warship is generic for ships you can't identify yet. Patrol ships are there to keep track of what's going on and wouldn't fight anything bigger than a runabout. Attack ships are found most often because they will fight enemy starships.

Here's what Startrek.com's database says about it

Jem'Hadar Warship (although the image file pathname has "jemhadar-battleship" in it: http://www.startrek.com/legacy_media/images/200512/ds9-525-jemhadar-battleship/320x240.jpg)

The Federation first encountered the warship in 2371, when the Defiant went looking for clues about the Dominion. The ships used ion propulsion, and like Jem'Hadar attack ships, featured shielding against tractor beams. Like many Dominion ships, these were not designed for comfort, and carried almost no cargo or safety gear.

One such ship, which crashed on Torga IV, had 43 Jem'Hadar and one female Vorta and was the intelligence find of the decade, according ot Sisko.

One of these massive Dominion warships was used by Gul Dukat in 2363. Dukat brought the ship to Deep Space Nine, hoping that Captain Sisko would be persuaded to release Cardassian rebel Ghemor. - See more at: http://www.startrek.com/database_article/jemhadar-battleship#sthash.0NUWrc59.dpuf

Jem'Hadar Attack Ship

The tough and versatile backbone of the Jem'Hadar forces, the attack ship had a blue and purple beetle-like exterior, and is about the size of a Klingon, B'rel-class bird-of-prey.

Attack ships are armed with a phased polaron beam, that can punch through Starfleet shields, even when harmonically altered. They also have a deflector which prevents tractor beams from locking on.

The ships' interior reflects Dominion designs — all crew stand, as there were no chairs, and all ships neither have food replicators nor a viewscreen. One such ship informed Deep Space Nine of Benjamin Sisko's capture.

It was later discovered that these ships could be damaged if attacked from above.

They got the image wrong for the battleship. They called it a battleship in the episode and it actually looked like this

...Well, they constructed very prominent physical models for NX-01, NX-Alpha, the Kelvin and the Vengeance, too.

I think Timo is referring to Qmx replicas which appeared briefly in Admiral Marcus' office in Into Darkness. The ships that appeared in the space shots were all CG
