"Jaw-dropping surprise" (The Almost People spoilers)

I wondered whether everyone on the beach is a clone except the Doctor. Just to be different. The whole "dropped them off to get on with their lives" bit didn't make any sense to me.
I thought that made complete sense -- he'd traveled with Amy and Rory and, as he's done with all previous companions, they had departed to get on their lives, much as Martha or Sarah Jane had left the TARDIS in years gone by. In this case, though, we don't know the reasons why Amy and Rory left the TARDIS. The younger Doctor's reaction to them in "The Impossible Astronaut" seems to suggest that the Doctor wasn't expecting them to travel with him again any time soon, but then circumstances forced him to change his mind.

I just watched this new clip from The Almost People:

The clip ends with a shot of the real Doctor and the ganger Doctor's shoes...pointing out that the real Doctor is wearing the reddish shoes that he got after his black ones were eaten up in acid.

Then, I went here and looked at a screenshot from The Impossible Astronaut, just after the Doctor is killed...

The dead Doctor is wearing the black shoes...just like the ganger Doctor...hmmmmm....

Of course he is. Those are his shoes. I'm sure he can replace the ones he lost easily. How many identical blue suits, brown suits, and tuxedos did Ten go through? Three brown ones in his last day alone!

It's an interesting idea and way for them to go but I have to admit its annoying the Doc Who team even mentioned the idea of a jaw dropping event because fans can work these things out quickly.

And turn out to be oh-so-not-interesting anyway.

The entire season is a day dream Rory is having while in the shower.

Jaw-dropping surprise implies some fan favorite showing up (Dalek, Cyberymen, Time Lords, The Master, The Rani, Romana, K9, etc.)

The jaw-dropping surprise may be that none of those show up.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping is the case...but you never know...

Hmmm. 2164 is 200 years from the 1960s, so maybe, but, I'm still hoping the DoctorGanger is a Red Herring, and not the solution to the Death of the Doctor

I think the
Ganger-Doctor-is-the-one-who-dies
idea is one that has probably occurred to a lot of people, but I really hope that's not the answer--at this point it just seems too obvious.

I bet we don't find out until episode thirteen.
