Jason Isaacs VS Sonequa. Who Should Have Been The Series Lead? (Spoilers)

If he is a reformer, he doesn't get much done besides a uniform change. Then again Roman emperors didn't always last long enough to sign the paychecks.

We know that somehow Sarek's son ends up serving the Empire, so some reforms have to happen over the next decade.

Phillipa Georgiou should have been the series lead, but with her gone it should be Michael. Lorca is Evil, he can still be a captain, but not the series lead. So LONG LIVE CAPTAIN BURNHAM, LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!

Since when has good acting been a requisite for the series lead? Shatner was for the most part awful but got by on charisma and a girdle
Maybe she should start wearing a girdle?

Is she? I've heard Walking Dead fans weren't too crazy about Sonequa.
I think her acting worked better on The Walking Dead, not sure if it was better or just more suited to that series but I never really noticed her being flat on TWD whereas I have on Discovery. (Did they make her Vulcan before or after casting her? :p) Then again I find Yeoh lacking as well and people seem keen on her so what do I know?

The star of the show should have been Rosairo Dawson as Burnham like they wanted.
"B'ellana Torres??" I thought for a second until my brain caught up.

Phillipa Georgiou could be coming back looking at episode 13

Star Trek: Shenzhou would have been amazing. Hopefully as the series progresses we’ll see (in flashbacks) more of their adventures and find out how Georgiou became the legend she is.

Some people seem keen on the Georgiou character as an alternative to the unlikeable characters we are presented with on STD. I could understand that. But I agree that Yeoh, as an actor, is weak. She certainly couldn't work as a compelling and charismatic series lead. It would be like 'Nicole Janeway' in the first version of Voyager;

Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou was almost instantly one of my favorite characters in all of Star Trek, wheras the others took longer to grow on me. I really would have loved to have seen the Phillipa/Michael/Saru show on the Shenzhou as well!

Yeaaaah...

LOL. You continue to amuse.

So Yeoh can do stunts... how is that relevant? Her performance as Georgiou wasn't anything noteworthy. As a series lead, she wouldn't work.

As a guest star, she works.

It’s relevant because you seem to basically hate strong women characters. Well I’m sorry, but Burnham ain’t making her Captain a sandwich anytime soon...

This is pretty much what its coming down to for "some" people like the above.

It'd be one thing if it was a "I just don't dig it" or typical "it sucks" here and there but the constant obsession on it with the occasional sjw dig reveals so much more than simply being an opinion about acting.

I enjoy strong female characters. My favourite was on Deep Space 9.

Mary Sue Burnham, however, is terrible.

I laugh that you had to post the Yeoh kung-fu video to try and convince that Yeoh would be a capable series lead actress.......and now you're saying you did it because supposedly I hate 'strong women'..... how juvenile.
