January 2012 Art contest -- Albertese

JES, FASA's officialness was pretty short lived. Don't get me wrong, FASA is personally my favorite Star Trek continuity, even over the canon stuff. In my head, I group stuff as FASA and SFC being one universe, FRS being one other very similar but not quite related universe and the on-screen cannon as an entirely separate universe. All three are inclusive of TOS, however.

As I inferred up-thread, this is from a fourth continuity, from my personal interpretation of Star Trek where this is how it happened. I've drawn elements from all the other universes plus thrown in some stuff of my own. In fact, I don't think Starbase 8 is mentioned at all in FASA's 4YW book, I got that from the book Star Fleet Dynamics who's map of the Federation/Treaty Exploration Zone is my preferred one (which itself seems based in part both on FASA's and FJ's!)

Also, where'd you get 9/29/2246? All I see in the book are reference star dates which I forget how to convert...

Ah well, as with anything in this forum, Your Mileage May Very!

Have Fun!

From this handy web page: http://www.reocities.com/Area51/Orion/5535/timeline/trek7-8.html
Someone managed to translate the stardates.

True that most of FASA isn't canon, but I still like to keep their time line under consideration, and try to integrate what I can into how I see the ST universe. It is the same thing you are doing, taking ideas from elsewhere, including your own, and integrating them into the Prime time line as a whole.

Starbase 8 isn't mentioned anywhere in text, I was just elaborating on what events would be like if the downfall of Starbase 8 where integrated in the Prime time line with FASA's time line. I see it in a way where the event could slide right in with several adjustments, probably with very little to no contradiction of the other two.

The battle for Starbase 8 would be much different from your idea, mainly that the Klingons suffered casualties, but managed to obtain victory because of their massive blitz attack, which outnumbered and outgunned Starfleet.

In fact, I think it is mentioned in FASA's time line that the Klingons were successful initially because they had superior numbers, until Starfleet's superior tactics did them in.

Oh neat! I'd heard of this guy's work but never actually saw a link to it.

Hours of interesting reading! Well, let's be honest...browsing.
