Janeway's locks...short or long?

Maybe I have to overcome a personal issue with hair: I am trying to grow mine long for ages now, but it is thin and breaks. So I don't manage more than shoulder length. And seeing that gorgous hair cut down AND dyed it in this (at least for the moment) offensive colour. It physically hurts! :(

I've recently hacked mine off to only just below the shoulder. I'm freaking out about my eventual shock locks ala Kate though :(

You really have no real control over aging...

Hair cuts/colour/styles you do.

Russian vodka swilling Kate..I think I can get into..will have to see. I mean, I survived the eye patch of Kove.

Or it could be...Here is my shocking hair cut..

Don't notice.......... I am NOT wearing my wedding ring.

(I have noticed that in a few pics and the video where she cooks dinner for Claire Labine and interviews her.)

She wasn't wearing it over a year ago, might be closer to two years now. She's definitely split up with the politician.

Or was the politician the first one? I can't remember. I don't pay any attention to them.

Delenn: I never notice such things. I don't even think about it...

JanewayRulz!: I had to look up who Julia Gillard was: I admit I got carried away. She's pretty! :techman:

I personally don't love how it looks - either length or color - at least in the pictures I've seen so far. But who cares? As someone who's had 1" long hair in the past (black, several different shades of brown and red plus a blonde disaster) and now has hair to my butt, I'm thinking... it's just hair. It'll grow back if she wants it longer again. Role or not, it might be fun to play around with it like this. I think this is the shortest I've ever seen her hair. It's different. It could be awesome.

I'm not planning on ever having short or dyed hair again for myself, but if someone paid me to do it? Yes I would!

Yeah, there is certainly some truth to it. It will regrow, if she lets it. And for the colour: sooner or later its just the thing you do if you don't feel like grey hair. You dye it. I wonder if she has grey hair. In my family I seem to have two extremes. One grandma got grey hair in the middle of her twenties, the other when she was passed sixty. I haven't got any, yet. If I did, I am sure I'd dye them. Until I feel old enough for grey hair.

Ageing can be a good thing.

Stephen Fry said that we all spend half our lives hurtling towards a point where we are the most beautiful we can be, and then we spend the other half hurtling away from that moment of perfection.

I think you're suggesting that her "moment" has been lasting and will continue to last for decades.

Sunscreen controls a LOT.

The eyepatch of Kove was the hottest thing EVER :adore:

Sunscreen doesn't control enough when you are near your 60's....However, She still looks great and I am a year older than Kate.

Yea, the hawtness of the eye patch grew on you..

Depends on your definition of beauty.
I don't regard a flawless skin and long hair as the essence of beauty.
The shock about the short hair in THAT colour originates from my admiration for her gorgous hair so far - true.
But she herself is nevertheless beautiful. Because of her grace, her intellect, her generous, giving personality. For the way she radiates energy and kindness, and the way she kept such an open mind.
In this way she certainly didn't hurtle away from perfection.
And I hope it will last for a very very long time.

I got nothing, but my parents are genetic freaks as far as grey hair goes. I am pretty annoyed at how thin it's gotten suddenly though as I have never dyed it but whatever. There's nothing to be done about that.

Her "moment" transcends space and time.
