Janeway and the Q Continuum

Here's an idea.... remember in "Q2"

:scream: Q: If the Continuum's told you once, they've told you a thousand times. Don't provoke the Borg! :scream:

They never fully explained why the Q acted that way, considering all the power the Q have. There could be a really interesting story involving an attack on the Q by the Borg. (Remember, "Q and the Grey" showed that ships could enter Q territory.) Maybe the Borg assimilated that knowledge at one point. (Unimatrix Zero episode?) And since Janeway has so much experience with them, they rescued her from death so she could help them. This could explain why she hasn't been able to contact her crew. Maybe when Voyager returns to the Delta Quadrant, they'll enter into a galactic battle and then....Janeway appears on the bridge.

I call dibs on this story.

Now that is the best idea I've heard in a long time!:techman:

When/if that happens, I'll buy "Full Circle" and any other intervening book with glee. And I won't even wait for them to be $1 from an Amazon Marketplace bookstore.

Me too. However, I'm not holding my breath.

Doh! I've done it again...

That's cool except...
as of the final Destiny book the Borg no longer exist.

I don't post in the trek lit forums anymore, but I've followed the Janeway debate there on and off.. I think killing Janeway off was a huge mistake and I would like to see her brought back at some point, as long as it is done in an interesting way.

And the Borg won't be gone forever no matter what Destiny says. The fact is that they are one of the most popular and well known Trek Alien baddies at this point. They will be back in one form or another whether it is in a movie, a new TV show, books or whatever..

;) Easy fix. Remember in "Homecoming" a virus almost led to the creation of the Borg on Earth. I can a way to bring them back. I'm sure of it.

How about if the battle between the Q & the Borg takes place in the past, and they take Janeway from the future because something about her experiences in 'Before Dishonor' have prepared her for that fight? That way you don't have to resurrect the Borg in any way (which would be really lame IMO) but you can still get Janeway back (and with your nifty explanation about needing her for the Borg/Q clash), the Q just don't return her to the exact time and place from which they took her. :) That's my suggestion.

I hope you're wrong about that. Or that at least we can go a good decade without them. Star Trek doesn't need the Borg.

What oops? You better not have spilled all the coffee or there will be hell to pay! ;)

No way! Are you kidding? lol. No. I just tried to post a spoiler tag for the first time and fouled it up. I wanted to delete the post but I didn't see how to do that either, so I just redid it with the Oops. lol. Which fit the circumstances.

But no. Sorry for making you worry. And I've not been drinking coffee for nearly 8 years, so you can have my share. :techman:

I was just teasing you. No worries. :)

I'm not saying that Trek needs them, just saying that money talks and since they are so popular it is a good bet they will make a return.
They are more relevant than ever in an age where it seems like we may be moving towards computer implants and prosthetics.

Sounds like you're getting a few fans here, belle! Maybe you should write a new Voyager novel instead of the "Captainkillers"!

Considering I've only written two ficlets and one actual story, that's a hell of a lot of pressure....but I'll do my best! Thanks everyone for the encouragment. Now, if TPTB just stop killing everyone off, I'll be fine.

^from what i've been able to find out, janeway is the only death and chakotay is taking an eventual LOA. so, i think you're safe for the time being....i think. good luck.:)

I think that Q's responce in Q2 was him saying prevoke the Borg and some innocent spieces pays the price. The relates to the events that Q himslef did to the Enterprise Crew. Q had grown close to the Crew after they took him in.
