James Kirk's height

Nimoy was obviously taller than Shatner but I wouldn't have said Kelley was! Shat was the star of the show and it was okay for the odd alien to be taller but not other humans with the exception of Morgan Woodward as Captain Ronald Tracey, one of the most experienced Captains in the Star Fleet!
JB

:guffaw: So glad someone bumped this thread (i.e., SOME good came of it) because I missed this hilarious comment the first time around, JB!!

I have stood next to Kelly, Koenig, and Takei. Kelly was taller than me but only by an inch or two. I was looking Koenig dead in the eyes, and was looking down at Takei a bit.

I'm 5' 8".

I don't care what the official bios say, that's the way it was. The year was 1976.

I have also stood next to Leonard Nimoy, and he towered over me by several inches.

Wow never mind their heights. How cool was it that you actually got to stand near them all.

I always thought Koenig was the shortest of the bunch! I always thought Majel looked really tall too but that was largely because most of the others were really short.

It was in an elevator at a Trek convention. I was heading down to dinner when the doors opened and I found myself face to face with DeForest Kelly, his wife Carolyn, and Walter Koenig. The next day on the way up I met George Takei, who had just come in from a run. He said he was thinking about running in the Boston Marathon. Don't know if he ever did or not. I met Leonard Nimoy at a store opening a few years later.

What was your experience like meeting all these people. Did you say anything while on the elevator? Did you say anything to Leonard?

I just rode the elevator with Takei, he was surrounded by about 8 other people. But I shook hands with all the rest, told them how much I'd enjoyed their work over the years, and thanked them for the splendid performances.

Then I walked around in a daze for the next hour.
