I don't suppose James Darren is related in any way to Bobby Darin? I realize the last names are spelled differently, but my dad suggested they might be related, and Darren/Darin is not a typical last name.
Spotted by talent agent Joyce Selznick of Columbia Pictures while waiting for an elevator, he was signed in 1956 and given the name "James Darren" by the studio in honour of the Kaiser-Darrin sports car.
