No, it makes sense because the nature of a paradox is that there is no starting point where everything was "normal". Either Kyle was always his father or he never was. Cameron is one of the few filmmakers who are able to make sequels that match or exceed the original. Aliens and T2 both are part of that short list. So if there's still something worthwhile to be done here, he'll come up with a way to do it. Just don't expect to be able to predict HOW he'll do it. Whatever spin he puts on it will be unexpected.

Yeah, thats what I meant by his lineage.... its hard to get away from it being Sarah that was targeted due to genetics. His father is unimportant. He's upbringing and path in life set by Sarah (whether unintentionally or not) is what matters.

Exactly. Although, that wiping out happened a full iteration of the time loop BEFORE we saw T1, to give room for the picture to exist. T1 is at minimum, the third timeline rewrite.
