"James Bond 23" officially slated for 2012!

I think at the end of QoS, they wanted to keep their options open instead of having an ending that will force the next film to pick up the Quantum thread. So, Quantum could still be there or not. Truth is, we don't know.

I'd suggest it has to be. this is the third of the series involving Craig et al. How many more films can you realistically expect them to be in (None in my opinion), and really, the organisation you have been hinting at for two films needs to play a pivitol role this time, otherwise it is just a complete waste.

Just like how Spectre was in Goldfinger?

I'm not suggesting that Quantum is going to be out for good, but it doesn't have to be featured in every film. I think the producers/director realized that when making QoS, so they didn't craft an ending that forced them into using the organization for Bond 23.

Bond 23 press conference will be held next month according to MI6.

The traditional press conference that marks the kick-off of principal photography on the next James Bond film will be held at Pinewood Studios next month.

As usual, Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes and producers will meet the world's press at the famous film studios to unveil the start of Bond 23 production.

All I remember about Goldfinger is that some chick was spray painted with gold paint.

I'm not suggesting it has to be. I am suggesting that this next Bond film will most likely be the last staring Craig et al, and it would seem a momumental waste if the organisation that has been talked about for the last two films doesnt actually appear in a big role.

Someone else is welcome to dig up a link confirming what I'm about to say. But on Nightline Javier Bardem recently mentioned that he was playing the villain in the next Bond film.

So there you go, one piece of official casting news out of the way :)

It's been rumored for ages sure. But there's never been any official confirmation on it until now.
