Jack, Lauren, Patrick, Sarina episodes

It feels like each episode Julian interacts with Lauren, Jack, etc. it feels the show did not think their introduction through. They are instituionalised. For Jack, sure, obvious, Patrick, also to an extent, but Lauren is just smart. And seductive. But that's no reason, and we don't see any onscreen reason or any mention of why. Is her general ego due to being genetically enhanced reason enough? Obviously, the writers did not think it through (like with the entirety of incorporating elements of genetic enhancement, starting with Julian).

The episode where Julian dates Sarina does give me the creeps, but that's the whole point. DS9 has a good way of making you see a variety of perspectives in an episode, and encourages you to draw your own conclusions about what they potray, and this episode is an example (though not the best written one in my opinion). Had me shuddering regardless ha.

I do think that if they were going to incorporate these characters, they could have done far more interesting things with them. I dislike how every episode ends with the verdict that they are dangeous, and Julian is always condescending to them. Perhaps its just commentary on how what you hope to be sometimes isnt true, ie Julian hoping they can integrate to society but they can't. But if this is his goal, he does a very bad job at it. It would have been more interesting in the first one, for example, for it to not revolve around Dominion secrets or whatever, but Julian actually integrating them into daily life on the station.

Overall, they just feel like missed oppurtunities to me. Do you like these episodes?

Well, Julian as much as I love him is a himbo and would go well with Lauren perfectly. Like Leeta. I do think it would have been interesting to see them more integrated in society. Supposedly Siddig did not like the enhanced human stuff so that may be why, he did not want that ability displayed too much. He felt like a poor man's Data. Doubt she has a record for being a forward woman though, lol.

When Crysalis first aired, I wasn't even 20. Still learning. I thought, that's cute, Julian found someone he can relate to in Sarina.
Now, being 43..... The entire idea of an adult, hyper intelligent person taking advantage of someone is in a way just reaching adulthood and is learning about so many things about life, including love and sexuality.....
Now, sure. I'm willing to incorporate the idea that Sarina could assimilate a lot of knowledge and emotion quite fast, and in the end of the episode it seemed she did. But still, I feel Julian as medical doctor and hyper intelligent person should not have done what he did.

It did? I should rewatch. I haven't watch DS9 since my ex I broke up over 6 years ago. It was our show, we were going to have the theme as she walked down the aisle. Still feels weird watching my favorite Star Trek.

I hope you are over het, because otherwise
I can't imagine how much pain it would cause to rewatch DS9.
I walked the aisle with my wife with the DS9 remix theme, I don't think I could rewatch DS9 without her.

I agree. Miles pointing out that Julian was wrong was something, but not enough. Sisko should have said something to him as well, or even Starfleet Medical.
