Days of Future Past (edited because I'm an idiot.) said outright that JFK was assassinated because he was a mutant, so logically the only reason that Magneto took the blame for that hit, was if he wanted Robert Kennedy (WTF? Bobby had 11 kids!?) to make a play for the presidency in '68 or '72 without there becoming a question of genetic purity before he's allowed to be nominated to the ticket.

JFK had 8 siblings including Ted, who should have only been able to survive all that excess because of mutant powers, so the question really becomes about whether or not JFK JR, and Robert are X-Gene positive in FOX's Marvel Universe? Although Beast recently said (in the comics) that the Mutant Gene is passed on by females, not males. (Yes, John Kennedy's daughter Caroline is still alive, but this is a pretty messy topic already, without involving the living.)
Which would suggest that Jackie herself had to be a mutant if her kids with Jack were mutants.
Discuss?
PS
There's a line from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...
It was a secret that Magneto was the shooter in Dallas, and a double secret that Magneto lied about killing the President, so who the frakk told Hunter S. Thompson in either reality or fiction, about half of this Mutant Conspiracy underfoot? Meanwhile if Robert had a really interesting/exotic mutant power, maybe what happened in the Ambassador Hotel in '68 wouldn't have been such a big deal?

“I watched that fight in Seattle—horribly twisted about four seats down the aisle from the Governor. A very painful experience in every way, a proper end to the sixties: Tim Leary a prisoner of Eldridge Cleaver in Algeria, Bob Dylan clipping coupons in Greenwich Village, both Kennedys murdered by mutants, Owsley folding napkins on Terminal Island, and finally Cassius/Ali belted incredibly off his pedestal by a human hamburger, a man on the verge of death. Joe Frazier, like Nixon, had finally prevailed for reasons that people like me refused to understand—at least not out loud.”
