I've converted my girlfriend to an Enterprise fan!

We were in Costco this past weekend and they had two seasons of Enterprise sitting there, S2 and S4, for $29 each. We only picked up one, the obvious choice of the two... yeah, S4.

I didn't think she'd be that interested, not being a sci-fi fan. She's grudgingly given TOS a chance and has enjoyed a few but mainly just humours me when it comes to watching Trek or Doctor Who.

I gave her a brief intro, basically... "Takes place 100 years before Kirk's time, and 200 years before TNG, DS9 & VOY." (She's somewhat familiar with 24th century Trek since her brother watched a bit.) I further summed it up with "S1 & S2 were them exploring, S3 was a season long arc, hunting some baddies that wanted to wipe out Earth and here we are at S4..."

Well, she loves it! In two nights we've gotten almost half way through the season, having just finished "Daedalus". Every time I want a break, she asks for one more episode. It's pretty damned adorable actually. A tense moment finds her clinging to my arm, an exciting or happy moment has her bouncing a bit on the couch and during the Vulcan trilogy she called V'Las pretty much every name in the book and cheered when his minister shot him.

I'm excited that she's excited. :)

Congratulations! That is pretty sweet, Josan!

My girlfriend was "only" a friend years ago when a bunch of us went to watch "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" at the theater. Ughh! She has a pretty sharp wit, and -much to my dismay- she took great delight in doing a MST3000 job on it (and there was just sooo much to poke/joke at in that movie!...). She doesn't care for sci-fi really at all, but she did humor me by watching Star Trek XI and "The Doctor's Wife" (Doctor Who) with me. I sure am glad that there are other genre out there that we can both enjoy watching.

I am glad that you guys can share "Enterprise" and that you will hopefully explore more sci-fi together! :)

Why would you do something like that (inflicting Enterprise) to someone you care for?

Oh, for the same reason you love the Sixth Doctor... personal taste. ;)

I like Enterprise, warts and all. It's actually my second favourite series behind TOS. TNG is dead last. Well, second last if I count TAS. And I don't.

That is very cool. My wife was a Trek fan when we met, Next Generation she liked a lot. She even saw Brent Spiner and Majel Barrett here in San Antonio a few years before we met and loved that. I got her hooked on Deep Space Nine about 5 or 6 years ago and now she thinks it is the best Trek series ever. She didn't really like it and/or watch it that much when it was on T.V. We were both hooked on Enterprise from the very first episode when it first aired. I think Enterprise is her second favorite Trek series. We went out and bough all four seasons of Enterprise on DVD when they came out and we also have all 7 seasons of both Deep Space Nine and Next Generation. We usually on weeknds have Star Trek marathons and watch every episode of one series, takes a while, then move on to another Trek series. Just need to get TOS series on DVD. Neither of us care for Voyager at all.

I'm in a similar situation. I got my gf into Trek (Lt rowy on here) and I started her off with a brief overview of what happens between now and Enterprise (Eugenics wars, WW3 and first contact) and then started her with season 1 of Enterprise. She never had much to do with Trek before, but she's really getting into it now. We're going through in watching order. Done Enterprise, Classic trek and now we are in season 2 of TNG.

Took about a week off but we finally watched Demons/Terra Prime. She liked it a lot and thought it was a great way to end the series. I didn't tell her about TATV. I simply took the disc out as the credits were rolling so she wouldn't see their was something else on the menu. No need to tarnish it for her. :D

Even with that nasty typo in my post. Gah! I always feel like a complete idiot when I switch up their/there.

What I found really cute was this morning, she said "Now I can go to work and tell people I own some Star Trek on DVD". She's a programmer/developer at the local university so most of her co-workers are "geeks".

And of course there is some disagreement over who "owns" the DVDs. :D

I had an Ex that was addicted to ENT. I love trek, but I loved her more. Too bad. Had to dump her because she'd rather watch the same rerun over and over then go on our anniversary date I spent a month planning. Two months after I left her, I heard she got fired for watching ENT at work. She was a Cashier at Wal-mart. Go figure

I wish that I could do the same thing for my entire family.:)

It's my wife's 2nd favorite ST show. When I met her season 1 was on and she never watched, now she has seen most of the series in reruns. You really are over-exagerrating a bit.

Hey Rama, Enterprise is also my wife's second favorite Star Trek show, Deep Space Nine being her favorite.

I have to my wife to liking the Enterprise list followed closely by TNG and Voy. But when it comes to DS9 and especially TOS it's a no-go so we agree to differ. She wouldn't know about TAS, we have it but for whatever reason she's not watched one episode:confused:.
