First off they're going to launch a Pay TV Drama focused channel called ITV Encore and will be Sky exclusive and a Free to air channel focused on "Lifestyle and reality" and females called ITVBe.

So it looks like we'll have 2 new ITV channels to ignore.

focused on "Lifestyle and reality" and females

So is this morning going to be on 24/7

Worst than that, TOWIE and Real Housewives and the like.

Never watched them.
But saw a clip of this morning a few months, ago does Holly what's her name always present in such away that even cbbies viewers would feel like they were being talked down to?

I've watched two series on ITV in the past ten years. Primeval (which was craps but fun) and Downtown.

I doubt extra channels will change that - they'll just fill them up with utter sh!te...

Apart from the odd film on ITV2 (which I've probably seen before, they generally only seem to be play about 4 different films ever on it, on constant rotation) I don't think I've watched anything on ITV in... 10-15 years? I'm actually trying to think. The Last Train in 1999 when I was 15
There may have been something after that but the fact I can't remember sums it up.

Oh I think I watched the first series of Take Me Out, when it was kind of funny and more tongue in cheek 'just a bit of fun' affair, whereas IMO from the second series onwards it was just downright sexist and offensive (to both sexes tbh) and feels like a sign of the apocalypse when you watch it.

I still have The Last Train on VHS when I taped it! Of course I no longer have a video...

ITV seem to have the odd decent show from time to time. I don't watch Downton but my gf did, there was Broardchurch as well (which I didn't watch) and Marchlands was quite good.

I remember that show they did with Patrick Stewart a few years back. I watched the first episode and that was enough for me!

Primeval was enjoyable as well.

On the whole though ITV's been pretty crap for a long time now.

I don't even watch the football on ITV anymore due to Adrian Chiles being on there. My housemate has Take Me Out on of a Saturday, but that's about it.

I do watch a couple of American shows on ITV2. That immediately puts it ahead of ITV1 in my book.

I know it sounds stuck up, but ITV is just so relentlessly chavvy and low-brow. It's like those crappy celebrity gossip and 'true life story' magazines ! Every now and then there's a decent drama, then back to wall to wall 'I'm an X Factor Get Me Out Of Here's Got Talent'. Even comparing the ITV and BBC breakfast TV shows and you can see the difference in approach...

Broadchurch was really good, imo

 so true, almost. I can't remember the last programme I watched on ITV1. I occasioanly watch ITV3 which shows the classics like Poirot or Sherlock Holmes.

A "Pay TV Drama"? Who the hell is gonna pay to watch an ITV show?

Oh yeah, because ITV dramas are really, really up to say HBO standard aren't they??
