Y'know. If it turns out that Khan is NOT in the movie (and for me, frankly, there has been nothing I would call proof so far), a lot of people here are gonna look kind of silly.
I personally hope it is NOT Khan.

As I have mentioned before, why does THIS Khan necessarily need to have Indian/Sikh heritage? Maybe he was just raised in India, but had British parents.
Considering the long-time relationship that England has with India, I can possibly see a "Khan" (maybe a pseudonym or nom de guerre) who was the son of British Nationals, but who grew up in India and identified himself more with the Indian Culture than with his parents' western culture.
Perhaps he even shunned his western culture and instead embraced the Indian or Sikh culture. This could very well be a man who was bent on world domination during his original time on earth (especially if he feels the western culture is worthy of being overthrown).
I'm not saying I think Khan is in the film (we have no evidence that he is), but the idea of a Khan being of NOT being of Indian heritage by birth can work...
...although I understand it is not part of canon (however, perhaps the TOS Khan was really of Spanish heritage -- i.e., had Spanish parents, but grew up in India
). Or maybe we can just not care about the TOS canon regarding Khan's ancestors heritage.
Inriguing theory...with one major loophole. Nero's alteration of the timeline only goes back as far as 2233, not the 20th century. Khan in the Prime timeline was a native Sikh who was born in India. Why would Khan Singh himself change unless someone had altered 20th century history?

Meh. I'm not that concerned about having the need for Nero to explain away differences in JJtrek.
I'm ok with some things just being different.
