It's at least three continuities...

Westworld, Lost In Space and The Orville are all I have patience for right now. Two adventure series set in space are enough of that.

In terms of execution of concept -- which, for my money, is the standard of "best skiffy" -- Person of Interest has all those beat. Though, I'd agree that Westworld and Thrones are probably better shows overall.

My favorite sci-fi show since nuBSG (naturally, of course, that I've seen) is Orphan Black, followed by Person of Interest. Westworld is outstanding, but I've not really sorted out the rest of the list. The list also has to accommodate Jessica Jones, and of course I have to get up to date on everything. Dr. Who is in there somewhere as well. One show that isn't in the top ten so far, sadly, is Discovery.

Try The Expanse. Watch the 1st season and see if it doesn't grow on you.

I've seen it and was not intrigued.

Space dramas are certainly not about the future; they are more and more determinedly nostalgic fantasies about the past. Gibson nailed this in "The Gernsback Continuum" a generation ago, and it's more true now than at that time.

I get a fun, inventive vibe from LIS and Orville - and certainly from DW - that's lacking in these shows that keep making the attempt to translate the whole superfuture shtick into something contemporary and serious.

Westworld's about the only show going after really big, disturbing ideas - however clumsily or reductively they sometimes handle the material, at least they're in there pitching.

His pupil visibly reacted to the drops.

Everyone pupil visibly react to the drops. The thing is Lorca wasn't sick and drops usage covered this. Medical examination would detect that his eyes are fine and simply react slower to light change.
