All the OP proved is that the kid actor slurs somewhat. Big deal. Funny how "kid actor's speaking" translates into "they changed his name."

Yes the software cannot account for the fact that the kid just had a near-death experience and out of breath and may be slurring his words slightly as a consequence.

This all sort of reminds me of how they resolved the war game problem in 'the ultimate computer tos episode'.

But i quite get this car scene now: its typical Kirk hurling himself towards the edge of disaster, taking the big chance, and then hanging on with grim determination and the same motif is repeated when he dives for the drill.

this too was gnawing at me since i saw it today and yesterday and i could've sworn both the father before slamming into the romulan ship and the kid after almost sliding off the cliff pronounced it in the movie as "Siberious." I thought maybe this was part of the reboot process and he's now James S. Kirk... lol...
