Is This The New Enterprise?

It says radio controlled flying Enterprise. The shape is for aerodynamic purposes then.

You may be right...thankfully.

But it does suggest something...

The ship may look the same. (Tho' I'm still worried about the comments made by James Cawley about what he saw.)

Looking at the communicator, I can accept that as a change. Maybe the Enterprise won't be that different after all?

It's quite clearly the TOS Enterprise slightly altered for aerodymic reasons to be a radio controlled flying toy.

I wouldn't get too excited about this.

Yeah - you are probably right. But maybe the ship will have most of those components - why would Mattel release a radio controlled Original series Enterprise around the time of the new movie -- that doesn't make sense...

I predict that instead of following your suggestion to not get too excited, loads of posters will now denounce the movie as a failure and Abrams as incompetent based on a couple of blurry shots of a foam-rubber flying Enterprise toy.

Ah Boo! No one has said anything of the sort... ;)

I'd hardly call those picture blurry, nor would I call them reason to worry. The point's been made that it's been altered so's to fly. Not the first time such has been done to the 1701 in order to make a toy fly.

What I like is the reasoning that it'd be odd to release a toy based on the original series ship if the movie version looks noticeably different.

I concur.

If those are good representations of the communicator and tricorder, I'm "very pleased." Seriously, they and the ships look great even as toys, although I hate it when they take a toy that looks like a prop and stamp "Star Trek" all over it. Maybe that's just for the display. Did I read that some of the toy communicators were so good that they used them on screen as the props on ENT later on in the series ? I wonder if these will be that close.

Actually, the saucer looks bent like the rim of a SOMBRERO!

Maybe the only thing to be taken from this is the Enterprise MAY be white.

A Klingon bird of prey to come out in 2009 as well? Again with the Klingons! No Romulan ship?

I noticed there were 2 different Enterprises. The first one looks like a hybrid of the TOS and the movie version, which I hope is not the new movie version. I don't think it is because the warp engines definitely look like the TMP engines, but the new movie teaser makes them look more like the TOS versions.
