Is this Star Trel XI or Star Trek I?

Dude, seriously? does one little number bother you that much?

Assume that it does.

:guffaw:one tiny little zero of little or no real consequence to anything at all in the entire movie appearing for all of a few moments has you on full fanboy rage mode and ready to boycott the film?

And people wonder why fans are made fun of. How can you be so anal over one digit, ironically the one that denotes 'nothing', when it really matters so damned little?

Even if they call the next one Star Trek 2, I'm still calling it ST XII. Coz that is what it is. Don't give me all this 'reimagined' baloney. The previous Trek films DID happen.

However, i don't see the 0 on the Kelvin's registry as being a big deal. We've already had the NX-01 and the Dauntless, which had a 0 prefix. What's the problem here?

The next movie might as well reinvent the future and universe as well and be star Trek too. It'll just be J.J.'s turn to be negated.

If they're so in love with zeroes, then why are the zeroes the ones outraged over every insignificant detail?

Well, since this film involves time travel from characters in the 24th Century, then it's at least part sequel, one would think ... right?

The movie will be called Star Trek and fans will call it ST:XI.

You're right. It's a sequel. In TVH, Kirk and Crew went back in time and in FC, Picard did the same. Does that mean they weren't sequels? Of course not. The biggest difference is in those movies we didn't see familiar characters as their younger selves. I'm guessing Spock goes back near the beginning and somewhere along the way we learn how he ends up in the future. Does he stay or die in the past? Does he return to the 24th century? Either way, the story will be bookended by the 24th century directly or indirectly, IMO. Will it adhere solidly to canon? No, but Trek movies are known for that. There are mistakes throughout each film. While I wish there weren't, I have to admit that it's fun finding the flaws and having a laugh about them. So, my mind is wide open for a great adventure with a good cast, oustanding SPFX, and a solid story.
