Is the Wounds trade being delayed?

I ask because Amazon emailed me, asking me to approve a delay in shipping. It did not say why the delay was needed or anything, only that I had a month from the 27th to approve it or they would cancel the order.

Just wondering.

I looked into the matter earlier this week. There was a problem at the supply-chain level (that is to say, after the book left the bindery). It's been corrected now, and books have shipped.

So, if I were to order it from Amazon now, I could expect their usual excellent delivery?

Huzzah and hooray!

...Now I just need to actually get to this point in my SCE reading.

My problem is I don't need anything else from Amazon right now, so I have to wait till I can get it locally.

I can now report Wounds on the shelf in NYC. At least at the B&N on Fifth in Midtown.

According to UPS my copy, along with the new 4400 book, is now in my companies mail room where it will probably sit for a day or two before I get it.

That's just the way it is, I would feel stupid marching down there demanding my non-work related Amazon order...

Borders doesn't even have Wounds shown on their website with a cover image. And you cannot yet search local shops for it.

Some Barnes & Nobles do have it. Just not any of the close by ones.

But not to worry, I have all the eBooks anyway.

Well the binding on my copy is a pretty shoddy. The covers are fine, but the side is wrinkled pretty bad, I haven't seen a bound book with binding this bad.

Of course the stories are very good, almost finished them.

Well, I checked my order after coming here and it has shipped, three days ago, Amazon still hasn't sent me a email about it shipping but thats ok I guess. They've been 'glitchy' on my last couple orders. I should have the book on the 11th!

Which means I have the last four SCE collections to read...
I'm so far behind.

Well the binding on my copy is a pretty shoddy.

I've been seeing a lot of chipped binding on Trek books on store shelves in the last year. I'll usually go all of them to find the least damaged or scratched.

^And my Gods of Night, and Mere Mortals both had some thick clearish stuff on the spines. And I got them from two different places, Gods of Night from Wal-Mart, and Mere Mortals from Borders.

^ Agreed. I had to go to three bookstores before I found a half-decent copy of Gods of Night. Couldn't find a half-decent copy of Mere Mortals, so had to take the least beat-up copy I could find, and it does have this residue all over the spine like JD mentioned.

I'm usually pretty picky about the condition of the books I buy, and I've noticed a marked decline in the condition of ST books over the last few months. Not sure if it's related to new shipping practices or what, but I hope the situation improves.

Go figure. B&N got rid of the eBooks first, and they're the ones to have Wounds first. :vulcan:
