Is The NuTrek Universe A Changed Timeline From The Star Trek Universe?

Re: Is The NuTrek Universe A Changed Timeline From The Star Trek Unive

That's what I have been telling people. The bridge of the NX-01 looked much more primitive than the TOS NCC-1701 bridge

Not even close, honestly. The building materials and equipment on the NX-01 are much more advanced and it shows.

The building material? Both are made from 20th Century materials. The equipment are props. Neither one actually does anything.

I was talking about the look and the fact that it looks like they've used finished metals for some of the components. Then there's LCD screens hanging everywhere and the handheld props are smaller. I never thought Enterprise looked less advanced than TOS.

Production values were simply better in 2001 than they were in 1966. It doesn't invalidate Enterprise, the writing did that mostly.

LCD screens and brushed metal makes it more primitive, IMO. Very late 20th Century.

I'm kind of mixed on the Enterprise look but I do like how the Kelvin bridges (no pun intended) the gap between Enterprise and TOS (or Abrams bridge-there are aspects of both in there).

The ENT look was very much influenced to the contemporary styles and tech used in the Military and NASA. While TOS has a 1960s vibe to some hairstyles and fashions, I think its tech was more original. TNG+ also has a unique look.

They all look like that decade's vision of the future. ST09 will look dated in a few years and so on and so on.

Yeah the TOS Enterprise did have a originality to it. As a matter of fact I cant think of any tech at that time that resembled it. The later shows like Enterprise seemed like the tech looked like something we already had just a bit bigger and shiner.
