Now, let's not overreact to the media's overreaction. While they may not be the end of the world so long as sensible precautions are taken, these diseases are serious and should not be dismissed lightly. If something has the potential to become a major threat and people respond intelligently in advance to prevent it, that doesn't mean there was never a threat. It just means that foresight, calmness, and sensible precautions are a healthier reaction than either hysteria or overconfident disregard.
