Is the flu pandemic stopping you from seeing May scifi movies?

Pandemic? What Pandemic? I suggest you read up on what the word *really* means.

Then take a chill pill. :D And watch less FOX news while you are at it... It'll calm you down too. ;)

^Thank you.

I wish people would calm the hell down and the media would quit blowing everything out of proportion.

I wasn't going to go plus I never go outside anyway so I guess the answer is no.

:p

What pandemic?

exactly, seems like the media are trying to create a storm in a tea cup just like SARS and Bird Flu before it.

That is specifically what the news media said in "World War Z" when news of the zombie outbreak came out: they got bored with it after a day or two and said "it's just another short disease flare-up like SARS or Bird Flu" and ignored it. Ignored it until hordes of zombies were overrunning their studios and flooding the streets of major cities like a tidal wave.

Never read WWZ but if people in Mexico were turning into zombies I might be paying more attention to this thing.:)

As soon as I sit down in the theater I start sneezing alot so noone will sit next to me and I can use both arm rest. Much more enjoyable show that way.

You realize that World War Z was just a book, right?

I think it's very ironic given the OP's username and avatar the way he's reacting to this piece of news

Did you read the book? It's the most realistic and believable account of what could actually happen during a zombie outbreak that has ever been written.

This would be a great time to have The Stand in the theaters... :D

Yes

Zombies and swine flu are two very different things. Unless those who died from swine flu reanimate as zombies.

I might not go if I lived in Mexico, but I don't, so I am, going to see ST. Have no desire to see the other two until they come out on BlueRay.

Now, let's not overreact to the media's overreaction. While they may not be the end of the world so long as sensible precautions are taken, these diseases are serious and should not be dismissed lightly. If something has the potential to become a major threat and people respond intelligently in advance to prevent it, that doesn't mean there was never a threat. It just means that foresight, calmness, and sensible precautions are a healthier reaction than either hysteria or overconfident disregard.

Uh, 48 cases out of 300 million people? I guess I'll take my chances for now.

Thank you.

I LOATHE the modern media(and the sheeplike plebs who hang on its every word)and the way it bandies around VERY important words like "pandemic" so they become buzzwords for internet bloggers and late night talk show monologues.
