Is the band Nickelback more hated than liked by fans?

I remember when Duran Duran was spewed on and called a talentless boy-band before that was even a term. And yet decades later, the dust cleared and they're still making original music, some of it very good, while the contemporaries of their time are either dead, retired, or playing the county fair circuit. I haven't really turned on a broadcast radio in years, so I don't know what's playing naymore, but I will say at least nickelback was a rock band. They were making music, and I never felt like I heard autotune. They weren't my kind of band but there was a lot I would like to hear a lot less then them.

People just like to go for the low hanging fruit.

I haven't heard enough of Nickleback's work to make a real judgment. I do know that Photograph song was waaaaaay overplayed to the point where I don't want to hear it ever again.
Like Guy Fieri, I think Nickleback gets a lot more hate than they deserve, but I have no problem avoiding both.

I don't hate 'em, they just don't make any music I like. Lots of bands out there and these guys aren't for me.

I've not heard a song of theirs I haven't liked. In fact, one of my favorite Bond songs is A View To A Kill

I was just telling someone the other day that Imagine Dragons were the new Nickelback

I bet a lot of people who say they hate Nickelback have never even heard their music and have no idea who they are. They just say they hate them because everyone else does.
