Is that Margaret Armen in Lights of Zetar?

This is a silly question to ask I admit but having read These are the voyages season three recently I found a picture of Margaret Armen in there and I thought she looked very much like the alien woman on Memory Alpha that the team find after the Zetarians attack the base! I thought it might have something about it on the chapter devoted to the episode but nothing. Does anyone else share my view? I know it can't be her but it's such a coincidence...

Well, the episode was co-written by Shari Lewis, who had visualized herself playing Mira Romaine!

As for the possessed technician, if that's who you mean, Libby Erwin does only have the one credit on her IMDb resume:

Thanks for that, Myko! And sadly I've just found out that Margaret Armen is no longer with us and hasn't been for some little time!

Very interesting. She'd have been about the right age, too.

It's been suggested* she was being mentored by the Season 3 production team for a full time on staff writing role, so she would have been hanging around the lot I guess.

Odd choice of role for a cameo if it is her!

Seize him!

;)

In all seriousness, the production records for this one look fairly complete at UCLA. I'll take a look at some point and see what they say about this role.

Since Libby Erwin only has the one credit on her IMDb resume, it's highly likely to be a pseudonym for a cameo.

I think "highly likely" is a bit of a stretch. They look vaguely similar. Let's see what the production paperwork has to say.

Armen was interviewed several times about her role on the series, no? And she never once mentioned an acting role?

Well, that assumes her IMDB profile is complete, including roles that were performed without credit.

I'm not saying it's "highly likely" that Erwin is Armen, just that it's unusual that an actress only appeared in one TV episode her entire career.

There is no mention of her being in the episode in TATV vol 3 it's true and I expected to see something about her being in the office at the time etc but nothing. But she does indeed look very similar. It's only in the past five years that I've seen the episode in it's entirety due to the cuts made by the BBC!

Is Libby a shortening of Margaret in any universe we know of? Erwin and Armen are both five letters and similar sounding....
JB

Libby is often a nickname for Elizabeth. Margaret is sometimes shortened to Maggie or Meg.

A few years later, I finally checked these files. The daily production report and the call sheet both indicate a "Libby Erwin" did one day of work on Monday, November 11, 1968. She was on set from 9:30am until 6:45pm. (Incidentally, Memory Alpha says this work was done on stage 10, but it was in fact stage 9).

Unfortunately, the cast sheet is missing for this episode, so there's no address or other identifying information that I could use to track down Ms. Erwin (if that was, in fact, her real name). ProQuest and Newspapers.com both show that a "Libby Erwin" was active in Los Angeles real estate in the 1970s and 1980s. Unless the cast sheet for this episode shows up, not much more I can say on this topic.

This woman, despite the resemblance, was probably not Erwin Armen — but I can't say that definitively.
