Is Sarek aware of Spock's personal life in this Film?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that Ben Cross didn't quite fit the role as well as he might have.

Perfect summation. When Sarek shouted a Spock to stop, I felt that Old Sarek wouldn't have needed to raise his voice, and that he would have cowed the entire bridge.

I really liked Ben Cross's version of Sarek. It wasn't a clone of Mark Leonard's, nor should it have been. I actually found Cross's version more sympathetic and relatable.

I'm not sure Sarek is ultimately -supposed to be- sympathetic and relateable, at least in the original timeline. He is after all a Vulcan, not a human. :)

What's with all the old Sarek worshiping? I thought he was an ass. He reminded me of my own idiot father.

I am sure NuSarek is aware of Spock's personal life, I see him caring enough to keep the lines of communication open with Spock, they probably speak often.

^ Agreed. Sarek always came off as some cold father who seemed to be disappointed in Spock. As if Spock chose to have a human mother. Why reject the product of your marriage that you chose?

spock at the time of the movie would be some seven years short of his first pon farr

Shouldn't his first Pon Farr be at age seven?

Saavik said every 7 years of their "adult life". Which I assume means the first one is during puberty, the others every 7 years after that.

Not only that, "Amok Time" all but says that his first pon farr was unusually late. He mentions that he'd hoped that he wouldn't get it at all since he was half-human.

True, I'd forgotten that reference, the early onset during the Genesis incident was due to his unstable body chemistry and greatly accelerated aging.

Maybe Spock Prime and NuSarek get to know each other. At the end of the movie, isn't Spock Prime zooming off to help establish a Vulcan colony, and wouldn't NuSarek be doing the same?

It would only make sense that SpockPrime and NuSarek end up working together to establish this new Vulcan colony.

Imagine the opportunity that SpockPrime has. He can get to know this Sarek as he never could in the prime timeline.

It would be fun, wouldn't it? I wonder what NuSarek would think of his destiny in the prime timeline. Chris Pike got a somewhat better deal. Sure, he still ended up in a wheelchair, but he didn't end up in the beeping iron lung.
