Is RLM Not as good as it used to be?

Okay so I've downloaded the recent "Batman and Robin" commentary and I've been listening to it on and off all day, along with the movie. There's your first clue - on and off - it's just not holding my attention. Mike is continuing his slide into disinterest and apathy, which does not make for riveting listening. Also, I can laugh at a good fart joke along with the rest of you but the CONSTANT references to farts, shit and anal humour is just boring me.

Also last night I watched their latest "Wheel of The Worst" and I found their ridicule of the clown grief counsellor woman to be distasteful in the extreme. I had checked up her history and, if true, it's ABSOLUTELY tragic! Again, it wasn't funny and I was bored in the extreme.

I've noticed this downward trend in the past few months - their movie reviews are now hyper-cynical and annoying to watch. Where I used to clamour for the next RLM video, I find them a bit of a chore to sit through these days.

Unless it's a new Plinkett review...I don't go there.. most of the other reviews are simply too tedious with obviously forced humor..

I've kind of grown away from it. I used to enjoy Red Letter Media, Plinkett in particular. I would stop whatever I was doing upon hearing a new review had been released, but I don't really look forward to them anymore. Maybe it's how they've changed up the review system, or their newer segments which don't interest me; either way, I don't pay much attention at all now, even regarding Plinkett.

I have started noticing this as well. It seems they are completely uninterested in making Plinkett reviews, which is what made them popular in the first place. Half in the Bag is entertaining sometimes, but, as said above, Mike really does seem to be becoming more and more cynical and less funny as time goes on.

The one exception was a recent video they did with Jay and Mike called "Scientist Man Explains Terminator Genisys" which tried to explain all the different dates and timelines to a confused Jay dressed up as Marty McFly. I thought it was pretty funny.

Well they haven;t done any "Plinkett" narrated reviews. During the break they are making an actual movie called Space Cop.

That being said.. they should go back to doing those reviews if they want to regain their once proud status as the best critics on the net

They've mentioned that another Plinkett review is on the way. But I'm still a fan and as long as Rich Evans is there I'm all in.

Still a big Half in the Bag fan, though I think they could stand to cover a bit of a broader range of movies, not just the major popcorn releases.

As for Plinkett reviews, I don't miss them much; I actually found the Titanic review to be pretty dull for large chunks of its runtime, and generally unfocused.

Yeah, making fun of that baby that had a few weeks to live was a massive turn off.
Still, I basically like Mike, Jay, whatserface , Rich, Wizard, and Jack.
It's a pretty good set-up.

Half in the Bag is not bad, they pretty much summarize the opinion of fans. Some of Mike's comments sound hateful though.
They keep saying a Plinkett review is on the way but they've been saying that for a long time now. Half in the Bag seems like less time and effort for them.

I still very much enjoy Best of the Worst - although thats very dependent on what films they do watch, Wheel of the Worst highlights this in particular. What might sound like an amazingly bad movie might just be a bad movie.

Half in the Bag is much more hit and miss. American Ultra just seemed like something to fill an episode with, rather than something they actually cared about seeing.

I guess with the Plinkett reviews, the quality that goes into them is what takes them so long to produce. I do feel, however, that they've been side-lined by all the other stuff they're doing.

And as for the "Space Cop" trailer - that looked kind of dire!
