Is Rihanna retarded?

First off, why is trekbbs diverting me to some spam "do you need cash" bullshit site? I know it's trekbbs, cause this has only started happening today and only when I'm on a trekbbs page. Very irritating.

Anyway...

Unless the special circumstances consisted of the girl actively trying to kill the guy, beating the ever-loving bejeebus out of the girl is inexcusable. I don't care if he was abused as a kid. That bullshit excuse doesn't work with rapists or murderers and sure as hell doesn't cut it with physical abuse like this. Fuck this guy and his sob story. Suck it the fuck up, Chris, and be a real man or come on over to my house and I'll show you what an honest-to-goodness beat down really looks like.

As for her, if she wants to be retarded and try to save his ignorant ass by being his cash cow and punching bag rolled into one, go for it, but don't expect me to give a shit the next time he pounds the pretty out of her.

A quick Wiki search says in his biography that he was a victim of domestic violence as a youth. Interesting how quick we are to judge. I'm not saying the guy should get off or we should all feel bad for poor Chris Brown or anything, but things aren't so black and white in this world, and we shouldn't judge someone when we don't know their situations.

While I can appreciate the sentiment of not judging until we know the whole situation, I think there are some situations where frankly, you can judge. A guy shouldn't be beating his girlfriend, period (or vice versa). A man who comes from a background of domestic abuse knows first hand how terrible it is--there's no excuse, period. There are some crimes that are just inexcusable from any standpoint, and this is one of them.

The grey area is in her decision to go back to him. To any outsider, it looks like an incredibly foolish move--and it is. But who knows what self-esteem issues she has that are leading her to go back to him.

If only the human psyche were that rational. Unfortunately, it is not.

And by the way, nothing I've said has been meant to be an excuse for the man or a freebie for that kind of behaviour. Regardless of why people commit a criminal act, the criminal needs to be punished. There is no doubt about that. All I'm saying is psychology is complex, he can in some way be a victim himself, and Rihanna may have the love and compassion and empathy and strength to want to help him if he wants help and is honest about that.

We can't just give up on everybody all the time.

She can help him by throwing him out and telling him to get serious therapy. Only by being shown by example that his partners WILL. NOT. put up with being beaten will he be motivated to get help. You beat someone, you lose them. That's what he needs to be shown. As long as she comes back, he'll eventually fall prey to the impulse to beat her again as soon as his stress levels get high enough. Why change if he knows she'll eventually come back every time? He beats her. Then he's sorry. Then he buys her gifts and is very loving. Then he'll beat her again because he can't control his anger and he knows she'll come back because she "loves" him.

She needs to show herself love by not allowing herself to be beaten. All she's doing now is risking bringing a child into the situation so that Brown can beat on him, too. What a kind, loving person she must be. Ten to one she gets pregnant.

Dude may very well need to be shown the door. Then again, maybe he's been shown it so many times before and he has inferiority and abandonment complexes. Being shown the door in that case wouldn't help him at all. Someone loving him enough to stick by him through therapy and criminal punishment and rehab might be what he needs to get better. Otherwise, he may become an ever worsening blight on society.

Or, he might just be an unrepetent douche bag who should be eliminated.

I prefer to have hope.

Beat me once, shame on you.

Beat me twice.....

The psychology excuse doesn't go very far with me. You don't have to be Spock to look at something in a logical manner and make a decision not based on emotion.

If she gets beaten again by this guy I definitely put her down as stupid rather than the 'poor victim of psychology'.

You know considering the pressure celebrities are put on to look a certain way I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of them have a horrible inferiority complex. They have hordes of people telling them if they just lost this, had this different nose, or lighter skin then they'd look pretty and be acceptable to society. But in the mean time we have makeup and lighting and photoshop to make them be acceptable.

Without all that then they fear and are told they are nothing.
