Is Revenge of the Fallen a good blind buy?

And not being seen onscreen was a bonus.

"What? No that wasn't me it was a sound-a-like. Michael Cork, I believe his name was."

I didn't care for it...:shifty:
I didn't either. My 13 year old loved it.

Yeah, my 7 year old son loved it as well...he keeps talking about getting the DVD...:shifty:

I enjoyed the first one, so the theory that if one liked the first one, they'll love the second certainly didn't hold true for me. I went into the first one with ZIP expectations...so, I was really entertained by it.

The second one just came across as a bunch of mindless and poorly executed action sequences that just didn't ever seem to ever want to end.

How long was this movie 5 hours? I kept looking at my watch...thinking "when is this going to end?" and it kept pretending to end and just came back with another mindless action sequence...

Terrible. Just wretched.

Oh well...as I said, my son enjoyed it so I guess my money wasn't completely wasted...

Well after three days I finally have watched the entire movie.

I want my money back. I don't even remember the damn thing!

They should have used Stan Bush's new "The Touch" song... hehe... with the "wigger" rapping in the middle. Why do they keep using Linkin Park anyway? Are they even relevant anymore?

Honestly its kinda grown on me a bit. I still kept wishing Devastator would have eaten that one twin and then stepped on the other.

Although "Robot Gonads" is priceless. I wonder how long it will be before some 3rd party toy company like iGear or TFC creates some aftermarket "gonads" for the big 99 buck Devastator toy? hehe

That's ironic since the movie seemed to LAST three days when I saw it in the theater! LOL!!

To be honest, I couldn't tell you what happened in it either...the most memorable part was the "Terminator Transformer"...and that only stuck with me because it was so ludicrous and seemed incongruent with what we know about Transformers...

Just seemed like a Terminator ripoff at that point.

The two "jive talkin'" Transformers were stupid and annoying...bleech! I'll never buy this movie!

Well the Terminator transformer did make sense to me... since I'm of the G1 days and I remember the old "Pretenders" line, where you had the bots inside human shells. Although how that bot could turn back into a human with clothes... that sorta stretched things a tad

I thought the first movie was okay. Looking at all the reviews about Transformers 2 everything that I thought was a problem in the first movie (unwatchable shaky cam battles, stupid humor, and the story) is much worse in the sequel. I don't planning on seeing it. Too bad they got Michael Bay and not a better director.

Sweet Jebus! I just got the movie and I'm enjoying the ever-living fuck out it! Weird thing is I don't really know what the story's about or if it had one but there's so damn much spectacle that I'm having a hard time caring! I'm at the part of the movie where Optimus and Megatron are fighting it out in the trees and...

I feel like the way I felt when I was nine years old and I'd watch Transformers on tv after school. Just seeing Optimus and Megatron bigger than life and fighting it out in the real world just gets the blood pumping!

I'm thoroughly grateful that I never fully gave up a childish mindset. This is a movie where the ability to think hampers the experience. I turned that ability off and I'm getting the most out of it.

I'd probably hate the damn thing too if I was thinking during it. :D

DO NOT BUY IT!

I repeat, DO NOT BUY IT!

Stay away from that tripe of a movie!

Did I say, DO NOT BUY IT!??

I warn with good intentions. Your money is NOT deserved by that shitfest of a movie!

Again, DO NOT BUY IT!

So....I'm confused. Buy it or not?

;)

lol. As well intentioned as we all are bashing this movie (and we're oh-so-grateful for the opportunity), I'm getting the impression the OP's mind is already made up, getting-it-wise.

I have to agree Admiral James Kirk... if you look at it from a young person's mindset, its a fraggin' blast and a half! I mean, what are you all expecting? Hamlet? To Kill a Mockingbird? Its Trans-friggin-formers!

Its all about big ass robots beating the ever livin' shit out of other big ass robots. Its not meant to be serious, so just shut your critical mind off and enjoy a few hours of "brain candy"

Damn! A friend just bought the dvd and gave the movie to me as a gift!

I guess I'll give the movie a chance.

Ah, well here I disagree. Some of Simon Furman's comic-book stories were surprisingly sophisticated and grown-up. They could have made an intelligent, thematic movie here, but went for bottom denominator instead.

I've seen the movie (but I haven't actually heard it - it's been silently playing on the screens behind me for the last week), and could only discern the plot by reading on IMDB, and even then it didn't make much sense.

All of these so-called characters - they are practically unrecognizable from what I remember. Names are randomly attached to completely different characters as if it's supposed to matter. It doesn't. I mean, since when is Jetfire an old man with a beard and a cane? Jeez.

I recognized a lot of isolated story points from the comics I used to read, but they were put together pretty incoherently into a completely different story.

In conclusion, not especially impressed. Not saying it's the apocalypse or anything, but yeah, I've seen better.

Well yeah, I was kinda enjoying the movie up through the forest battle too.

It's AFTER that point that the movie nosedives and becomes an unwatchable mess. :D

I loved the first Bay Transformers movie, but I was not especially fond of Revenge of the Fallen when I first watched it in theaters. Last night I re-watched ROTF on Blu Ray, and... I liked it. I didn't love it, but I liked it.
