Today, Paramount Pictures registered the title “STAR TREK 4” with the Motion Picture Association of America, TrekMovie has confirmed. Combined with the fact that Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto already signed on for a fourth film andtalk from Simon Pegg that Beyond won’t be a “trilogy ender”, it’s looking more like Star Trek 4 is in our future.

Does this guarantee that “Star Trek 4” has been green lit?
The short answer is no. But, it’s a big step. Paramount has officially registered “STAR TREK 4” as the title of a film with the Motion Picture Association of America, a step that is necessary before any major film will be released in the United States. We know that two of JJ Trek’s biggest stars, Chris Pine (Captain Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock) have already signed on for a possible fourth film, although there has been no word yet on Trek’s arguably biggest rising star, Zoe Saldana (Uhura).

How about we find out that Cochrane did a "Timeline" (Crichton) on his first warp trip, and we watch as his arrival in the past changes the future, through the ages, and the writers juxtapose between what we know with how it changed because of the introduction of Zeph technology. We go through 7 seasons, until the Finale, where we dissolve onto the Enterprise D, and in a "Newhartian" (Hotel Bob) moment, we find out that the TNG future is actually our own, because of the trip Coch took!

Or we could do the Whales and Dolphins thing.

Apparantly only Pine & Quinto are the only ones signed up - that would actually be a quite interesting change of dynamic; Kirk & Spock without the rest of the crew
