Wow, necroing a thread that had no posts in more than a year for "info" that has been posted here in March already ( http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?p=10861591#post10861591 )?![]()
Just followed that link. I hadn't been into that thread since... September 2013? So that post was older than the thread I "necroed". Still going, sure, but I never seem to go there.
Tonight I had conducted a search on the term "No Limits" and this thread was the only one that came up. (I did note February, and hadn't actually flinched at the 2014, probably because it's hard to believe we are well into 2015.) Pardon me for missing the announcement of the German cover. I was on vacation in March and totally missed the news. If it was new to me, an avid "New Frontier" fan, then it might have been new to others.
I have been criticised before for starting brand new threads with info others consider repetitive. I figured I was making a right choice. Is there a stated ruling on old threads? I thought a year or so was still within the rules? I thought I was bringing past posters discussing "No Limits" some information they might not know.
If it's so wrong to "necro" a thread, even when on topic, why can't dead threads be automatically set with a "no new comments" setting? (Starting a brand new thread on an old topic does not give new posters any of the old questions and answers.)
