Is it uncouth to wear a grey bath robe with a black sock?

I've never owned a bathrobe because I can always just toss on a t-shirt, or walk around naked if no one else is around. Seems like a waste of money.

I always wear white socks (even with a suit  ).

Ack. I'll ask a similar question I asked last time. Do you not own any black socks?

Seriously, they aren't that expensive. If you don't wear suits often, you don't need many of them. If you do, then you'll put them to good use.

ETA: OK, I'll agree some dress socks can be tight. So I do look for better pairs. But my point remains. If you only wear a suit occasionally, find a pair you like and wear those (or suck it up for whatever occasion it is). If you wear them all the time, then buy a bunch of them and keep looking. But white socks and suits is just awkward.

You guys are missing the obvious solution: he needs to buy a white suit.

You know, I don't know the rule for that. Let's say white suit with white shoes. I guess white socks are ok? Is Holdfast still around these days? White suit with brown shoes should probably have dark socks, though.

No, I don't.

As I said, it's been years since I needed to wear a suit. It'll likely be many more years, if not decades, before I need one again. If that day ever comes, and I think people might actually be looking at my feet, then maybe I'll think of black socks. But until then, why bother? The likelihood is so remote that it's not worth the effort.

But white socks and suits is just awkward.

Meh. I don't think so.

Can't say I've ever really had a bathrobe either. Guess I don't see the purpose/use in them. I shower, a towel off, I put on clothes. (Either work/day clothes or my night clothes whatever the occasion may be.)

And I sleep nude.

So what's a bathrobe going to do for me?

I have numerous bathrobes. I walk right past them and put on a micro modal shirt and basketball shorts.

They always seem like a good idea, I just never end up using them.

I only wear my bathrobe after I shower. You ever try to put socks on wet feet? Not the most fun thing to do.
