I hate this pressure to be available to everyone all of the time.

I think I want to be a psychologist because I already feel like some sort of emergency psych line.

If it weren't for the sex, I'd have left for my home planet ages ago.See...this is another reason why I hate most all forms of communication with other human beings.

Tangentially related, people who want to have text conversations about complicated things (like, say, a pending case) are a little annoying. It takes about ten times as much time and effort as if they just fucking called me.

See I actually like text messages over calls in some ways because you can refer back to them if you need info, and you have some space in terms of when to reply back.
A valid viewpoint, although I usually keep track of things in my head; which has led some to believe I'm disorganized. If it weren't for the sex, I'd have left for my home planet ages ago.See...this is another reason why I hate most all forms of communication with other human beings.

^The OP mentioned the persons in question were posting on Facebook from their phone when the text was sent.
I just wish people would stop assuming that everyone can text for free.

Yeah, I do my best not to text people for whom it isn't free. I usually ask before I start texting 'em.

If I was busy posting on FB from my cell I might ignore texts for the time-being and possibly forget all about them for the time-being...or even accidentally delete them or such.
Really, these days people are way too willing to assume that messages have been received/read. In the world of email/texts/FB posts, the only message you can assume has been read is one that's been acknowledged....and even then...
I would ask the person who was texted, "Hey, did you get my message? If so...er...why didn't you reply?" Why make assumptions?
Most stalkers have the same attitude you have. Perhaps you are demanding too much of others. I do not have text capability on my phone by choice. Who are you to demand that they must stop whatever they are doing and reply immediately to you?! They also have voice mail, do you demand everyone pick up the phone immediately or do you leave a message?I hate to leave people hanging, when I get a text I usually read it right away and respond accordingly. The only exceptions being if I'm driving or at work...or if I for some reason am away from my phone and don't read the text till a while after reading it.
But it just bugs the shit out of me when I know someone has their phone with them. If I'm sitting there reading you posting on facebook from your phone there should be no reason you can't use that same phone to read my text and respond. It just bugs the shit out of me.

Right, and something just occured to me. Texts may be late. I sometimes get an text from my fiancee hours after she sent it.... imagine how annoyed she was with meme when she meets up with me asking why the hell I hadn't responded to it...
My time is mine to do with as I please. NO ONE tells me when to answer the phone or respond to messages. If they do, I find new acquaintances. I value my private time.
It just bugs the shit out of me.
