Is it possible

A film can be even better 2nd time around, especially when your also watching the reaction of people who are going for the 1st time. Just been a 2nd time with someone who has been before and 2 who hadn't and they loved it and it was so good to see a film with other people where everyone can agree on it being a fantastic film. Did you go and see it with others and did you come out all agreeing it was good, bad, awful etc, let me know?

I have seen the movie and I am going tomorrow with friends who have not seen it yet and one is a pretty big Star Trek fan. I am interested to see his reaction.

It was in my case. The first time I was filled with a sort of nervous energy, and part of my brain was still in old Trek mode, frowning in spite of myself at canon violations. But as the week went by, I gained some perspective on the film. By the time I saw it again on the following weekend, I was able to sit back and enjoy it thoroughly.

Also, the second time the theater was very much a mixed crowd, including many people you wouldn't peg as Trekkers. That made me smile.

for me I found the bits which were humourous more funny this time as having seen it I could relax and knew what to expect. Also pleased to say after being open here in UK for 10 days, still a full cinema for the screening.

Same could be said for me, that's why I intend to go my second time next week, and see if it's any differant.

I enjoyed the movie more the second time. The first time I was too focused on every detail, too busy trying to absorb everything I was seeing, and overly attentive to the many plot holes, which tend to bother me in general perhaps more than they should at the movies in general.

The second time I just relaxed and went for the ride.

Overall, after seeing this movie a couple of times, I feel like I just had a tasty appetizer, and now I have to wait two years for the main meal

I've only seen it once but I think i'll be waiting for the DVD coming out before I watch it again. I'd rather wait so I can enjoy it on my 50 inch telly. :D

With my projector and seating arrangement, I can't replicate IMAX, but I can replicate the relative size of the image as seen in a typical cinema. Still, I've seen it twice already (once in IMAX) and will likely see it again.

As to the OP's question--the answer is yes (and this applies to many films).

I liked it the first time around but I thought it was even better the second. Watching my girlfriend's reaction when I saw it the second time was part of the fun (yes, she liked it, too) Now, we're both planning to see it again later this week.

I'm going to take my ex to see it on Friday. I cannot wait. While she's more of a TNG person she grew up on Classic Trek. I'll enjoy seeing what she thinks. She hates every movie she sees. If this doesn't bring a smile to her face she's an android!
