I don't see how developing a warp engine, in and of itself could change humanity's behavior.

Discovering the new world, inventing the air plane, travel to the moon still really didn't create any serious changes in behavior.


Realizing that there is a larger community beyond earth could shake the human ego up enough though.

Some of the things that have caused large scale changes in behavior are guilt, remorse, sudden devastation, reflection, education and improvements in technology.
