That's absolutely hilarious. If you come across as being even moderately competent, most people will naturally believe anything that comes out of your mouth.

I once took a map of the 48 US States, removed the state boundry lines and made it one color, turned it 45 degrees, and showed it to someone (a fellow American) who was completely unable to tell me what region it represented. Face it; the masses are just born thick.

I'd been to Canada once also, to attend a friend's wedding. It was a big outdoor affair in August and we were standing outside for hours. When I came home, I had a nasty sunburn. Not really being the "out-doorsy" type, at lot of folks back home were surprised to see me sunburned and asked how it happened. Well, I told them I'd been to Canada and Canada, being much farther north is closer to the sun and I wasn't used to the exposure there . . .

NO ONE challenged me on my claim that, being so much farther north, Canada was closer to the sun . . . NO ONE . . .
