Spoilers Is it possible that Chapel and Spock were in a romantic relationship during TOS?

there could also be whispers of “home wrecker” even if Spock said they were on a break.
Spock and T'Pring don't have kids. They're not even married. Homewrecker seems to have become used more loosely now it seems. Spock's home isn't even with T'Pring and it doesn't seem like it ever will be--that's part of why they're on a break.

Neither of them mentions being concerned about this at all. Their dialogue makes it clear it's a matter of them not quite knowing what they want out of their relationship now that they've begun seeing each other.

Also, Spock's and T'Pring's relationship fell apart because Spock and T'Pring are ultimately not compatible life partners -- Spock doesn't trust her the way he should, and he can't really help that. It wasn't actually about Christine.

I would hope that in the future, people have evolved beyond perpetuating misogynistic tropes like "home wrecker."

Charming.

homewrecker does seem like maybe the wrong phrase but I think you both get where I was going with it. I mean…it was pretty quick that they got together after Spock and T’Pring went on a break. I know I might look at it a bit side eyed if I was on the crew. But as I said I could be wrong. I think I’m just trying to figure out what it is that breaks them up and looking back from there.

I thought the Mount Seleya thing was kinda clever in a sorta crude, double entendre kinda way. Guess that humor isn’t for everyone. So noted.

I'm gonna say bring out the retcon-hammer and make them be together for the entire run of SNW, with maybe some small hints at the very end of SNW that they might be on and off by the time of TOS for a while, but keen on resuming at any time.

Make them go through challenges and ups and downs during SNW, in order for the audience to go through more "tension-resolution" cycles, now that the main buildup was resolved, and definitely don't break them up for good.

Forget the Korbys and the Kalomis.

Bend the canon so they might be together in TOS or at least part of TOS, and/or after TMP.

Don't remake Amok Time, but regard it while writing SNW as if it is were to happen differently.

Explore Spock and Chapel getting entangled in some "if a Vulcan mates, a psychic bond may be established" kind of thing. It overwrites the bond with T'Pring (if there was one at all). Make another new Vulcan ritual for it up.

And so forth...

You are not of the body!

Nurse Chapel wasn't even at the ceremony when it finally took place. ;)

I am tempted to rotoscope Chapel beaming down in the background and then add some close-ups of her emoting as Kirk and Spock fight. It's a shame she changed her hair so often. Even funnier would be Jess Bush's Chapel getting into a fight and having T'Pring with a black eye in her final scene.

That's a catfight i would pay to see. I think it would be an even fight.

Nimoy would remark on the fan letters and art he would receive, including around Spock's attractiveness. He found it...odd, to say the least:

Oh, so that’s the start screen for “Vulcan Love Slave”! Did the Ambassador get royalties?:angel::angel::angel:

Spoilers from Those Old Scientists and The Naked Time

||In the episode, Boimler let’s it be known to Chapel that Spock us know for having no emotion in the future. She has that look on her face and says she knows it won’t last, their relationship. Thinking back to The Naked Time, she confesses her love to him. Looking at it in this new context. She wasn’t speaking of an unknown love and confessing for the first time. But instead speaking of their past together and that she still loves him. Having been just infected and reminded of their time together, he goes to briefing room 2 and breaks down in tears. I’ve always loved that scene from The Naked Time, now it has even more weight to it.||

Spock's relationship with T'Pring would have failed even if he had never met Christine.

Indeed.

T'Pring is just pissed - and understandably so - that Spock didn't tell her about his condition in "Charades". (That, and the fact that Stonn could be there for her when Spock can't.) Christine has nothing to do with the rift between them.

have you heard the preview of Spock's song for the upcoming musical? sounds pretty sad... would hate to think they're broken up already?
